I just read that the panel heading by Manley will be paid $1200-1400 per day and the rest 850-1000 per day and they will work 15 days a month, which the four will get $15,000 from now until the end of March. Manley would be paid more but I don't think it matters because they probably come back in favour of staying in combat mode for Canada. Good thing the Cons have a 14 Billion surplus, it help to pay for the 20 Billion military bill they have charged up and raising!! I wonder if they will find that the millions of C $$ going to Afghanistan for the people isn't getting to the people they are starving in the south! I would like to know exactly were these millions are going and hope its not in the hands of the corrupt govt!

6 billion has been spent from what I read.

Of that only 600 million on helping Afghanistan rebuild,,the rest destroying their country and their people or in other words bombs and guns.

Look at them beg Canada to continue the graft as they are already addicted to the cash from us and if you dont think there are corrupt forces at work there ,,remember the Americans are missing billions and billions in Iraq !!!!!

A lot are lining their pockets with blood money.

4 ppl. 1600 = 400 each.

400 / 8 = $50/h. Each.

That is below a fee for consultants or even lawyers for a per hour fee.

I'm actually suprised they are getting paid so low.

The Liberals would never release the amount and would stuff our tax dollars in envelopes and steal millions of dollars.

Oh yeah.. they already did that.

---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. This was really a brownshirt style censorship from a moderator on mapleleafweb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oGB-BKdZg---

The amount of money that we have spent in Afghanistan, is not really all that much, when you consider that much of this comes from the foreign aid budgets. When we first were there, the soldiers built schools by day and Taliban burned them by night. The combat role has allowed many other areas to continue the rebuilding phase in all of this. But the fact that much of the roads in the combat zone are nothing more then trails and distances to most larger populations are much like Canada, pretty far between.

The cost of the panel would not be a lot of money and yes, it may well say to extend the combat mission, or maybe it will say that since the USA is pulling 100,000 troops out of Iraq by next fall, that some kind of rotation should be taken, but again speculation. Harper was wise to pick a panel to do this and yes Manley was a good choice as well. It was not done to be spiteful but rather to be cunning. That is what sticks in most liberals craw. They wish they had thought of it.

PER DAY IT MEANS

So what?

Cheap buy off really.

50 years ago stats can records showed doctors and lawyers made slightly more than journeymen trades.

Their wage has risen disproportionately very sharply upward.

Who are the politicians by and large?

I would have thought he would have been paid more than that for the optics he is providing to the cons ,,,I agree a cunning move but still wrong and misleading and contributing to giving us our first seats.

So carry on harper

The problem is, none of them has been to Afghanistan and it would be better to have someone with experience who has been there for awahile like the journalists!!
