Lots at stake here. Turkey is crucial to the US getting equipment into Iraq. And Turkey is threatening to invade Iraq to go after Kurdish insurgents. Will the Democrats back down on this?

Turkey recalls ambassador over genocide resolution

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Turkey recalled its ambassador to the United States in response to a House resolution that uses the word "genocide" in reference to what it calls the Turkish massacre of Armenians during World War I, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

Members of the Workers Party protest the U.S. House resolution Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey.

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs passed the measure 27-21 Wednesday, even though President Bush and key administration figures lobbied hard against it. The full House is expected to vote on it, possibly Friday.

A top Turkish official warned Thursday that consequences "won't be pleasant" if the full House approves the resolution.

"Yesterday some in Congress wanted to play hardball," said Egemen Bagis, foreign policy adviser to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. "I can assure you Turkey knows how to play hardball."...(more)

If the men do not die well it will be a black matter for the king that led them to it.

Yeah, this is getting interesting. We have a case of core US values coming up against George Bush imperialism. This is very interesting.

Slaughtering a million people and a third of a nation in a matter of months qualifies as genocide in my books. Sorry Turkey, grow up, it's time to recognize what you've done. Not talking about or calling it something it wasn't, won't change history to suit your personal preferences. It's holocaust denial on a national scale.

Damn straight Black Dog, Bush should tell Turkey to go get stuffed. It will eventually be classified as the first global genocide of innocents. If the West grow a set of cough balls. I have watched and read footage of this genocide, they loaded them on trucks (like the Jews in Germany) and slaughtered them. Recent diarys have turned up in a bank vault in Germany, a new book and exhibit is due out soon. They can deny all they like, but they slaughtered 1.5 million people over their religious beliefs. They should wear the stain and smear of mass murderers.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy

Even though few are alive that committed the deeds?

Do you regularly spit on young Germans in the streets too?
