I suffer from Chronic & Complex Migrains, and my Husband lost his colin to Colitis, and has Severe Crohns. Both our GP and respective Specialists have suggested Pot as a means of pain and vomit control. Our GP has even written us a note for the police saying she is aware and supportive of our pot use. The problem is, she can't find a Pharmacy to fill pot prescriptions in our area. So we ar forced to go downtown and deal with Criminals, and Become Criminals, to access what the Doc's have suggested. Yet, we are legally prescribed Oxycocet, which is not only a highly Addictive Narcotic, but has been proven to damage internal organs! If the Medical Community feels that pot is a viable Medical treatment, one that is safer and Healthier than other legally prescribable drugs, why are we forcing Legit Medical users to break the law? Maybe it's time for the government to Piss Off, and let the Canadian populace descide via a REFORENDOM!!!!

Maybe other white people took my fams. land along time ago. As a matter of fact, the Brits DID take my fams, land in Ireland. Maybe I should hold the Brits responsible and sue? Every race, at one time or another has had land stolen from them. Guess we're all entitled to compensation. I happen to live 15 min from the richest reserve in Ont., if not Canada, the Six Nations. That is a reserve with its own gypsom plant and mine, so they all work there, making higher wages with better working conditions than us here in town, and they don't pay ONE CENT in taxes. I really don't think they have much to complain about!!!!

I think the same arguement applies to them. In an animal, I expect it to overpower reason, in a human, I have higher expectations. In this case, the law says you can, and I want it made harsher. As a Conservative, there aren't many "civil liberties" battles I think I can win, but this is certainly one of them...society isn't sympathetic to pedophiles. What if animals don't base their behaviours on instinct? What if they base them on reason? What if we have superior reason and can therefore be expected to behaved in a civilized manner? Maybe humans should be able to control animalistic impulses, but a large portion of our population is no smarter than an arranguatang(sorry about spelling)!

Asia has a BOMMING economy. Thanks inpart to the NAFTA, China now has it 1st middle-class populace ever. Considering the economic, political, and social states of the US, would Canada be better off shifting the bulk of Trading from US to Asia?

I was watching a documentary on National Geographic, and the suject was "sex and animals". One of the segments depicted various animal species that would engage in sex with "child" animals when no available adult mate was to be had. I know we like to consider ourselves Superior on the list of the Animal Kingdom. But what if behaviors like Child porn and the like are not choices, but one of our Natural Instincts kicking in? Science has proven "Throw Back" genes : say you are white, your mate is white, but 300 years ago you had a black anscestor, you could have a black child. Is it possible that some people's desire for children is a animalistic, Natural(though detestable), "Throw Back" gene? B/c, we are Animals, after all!!!

It doesn't matter about the shape our military is in. Canada minds it's own business on the global scale. We DO NOT run around the world telling other nations that WE know the best way to live, and govern, Force them to bend to our will!!!! Canada does not need a large Super Army, because we don't give reason to Hate or Attack us!!!!!

As far as I'm concerned, Canadians not only practise Racisim, they have a distinct line between the rich and poor, with "Classisim" going on. To me, "Classisim" is a bigger threat to Canadian society, because rich or poor covers All races and beliefs!!!

Stealing is a choice to do wrong and to wrong the people that had to pay for the food in the first place. To justify wrong-doing in that fashion is both a very radical left-wing practice and encouraged by 'lazy bums'. Its people like you that make capitalism look good. Then what do YOU suggest, HAWK, that starving people do? If you are working poor, let's say income of under $40k, but over $25k, you can't use the food banks. Where do they go to feed their fams.?

Once again people, we are talking about people stealing FOOD to survive. Not TV's, or anyother "goods". Just FOOD!!!!

is it child pornography to take a pic of say your 3 year old playing in the tub? Is it child pornography if you take a pic of your naked baby laying on a blanket? Most fam albums are full of pics like that!!!!

Has everyone forgotten the original question? Is there a time when stealing food to feed yourself superceeds the boundaries of commiting a crime?

It does not matter if the kid live with parent A or parent B, or a fosterhome. WHOEVER the child resides with is RESPOSIBLE for the Child's health, wether it's for a week or for a day. The ADULT is resposible for the chils weight, PERIOD!!!!!!!!! I would hope the insane alcoholic would have their kids taken away, before these factors made their kids fat!!!!

Just to be clear, I am not talking about children who suffer from Thyroid disorders et al. I am talking about children who are OBESE because a) the parents are, so it must be ok parents use Food to Parent c) parents are not promoting physical activity These are the Parents who need to be held accountable!

This is true, but it doesn't address the issue at hand. The issue is whether it is a CRIME to have an obese child and I think that is a ridiculous notion. There are too many variables to blame one person for their children's obesity. where and when does parental responsibility come in? My huuby and I recently went to an assembly at our son's school, and I'm telling you at least 1/2 the kids are overweight, and 1/2 of those kids would be considered Obese. So who's fault is it that these kids are ending up like this? Not only are there health risks, but thimk of the Social consequenses as well : obese kids are limited to what they can physically, and are teased by other kids! Someone needs to take responsibility for the condition of these kids. Parents need to know that letting you kids become obese is NOT OK!!!!!

What do you think? Considering the health risks, both long and short term, should parents who allow their children to become obese be held accountable for Child Abuse? It seems to be as crimminally negligent as Starving ones child to me to aloow them to become obese!

The Canadian people have different needs and wants, depending on where in Canada they live. We have a Federal government posting a surplus, when Canadian citizens are going without basic needs. Do we really want to stay part of a system that is corrupt, when it would probably be better for the general populace to have a governing body that is concerned with the needs of the everyday citizens? The only wat I can see to make Canada viable in the future is to break it up!!!!

Amazing how many Canadians refuse to admit that being FAT is unhealthy. They would rather throw stones at smokers, and ignorantly plod along eating Super sied portions of greasy,fried food. Ithink the government should step in. Canadians are too gluttonous to stop eating themselves to Obesity!!!!
