  1. Take a moment to reflect on the main theme of what your message - that my desire to annihilate evil makes me evil. Clearly you're unable to grasp how stupid that position is. If I am opposed to enemies of freedom and democracy, and want to rid the world of those who practise reprehensible acts that are barbaric and subhuman that I've described ad nauseum, then I have become like enemies I wish to destroy? At what point in this conversation did I become a tribal, mysogynistic, barbaric, anti-democratic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-Western, infidel-hating, suicide bomber supporting, religious extremist? I guess wanting to rid the world of evil is an evil desire, at least in your demented reality. In other words, I must have missed the connection between me wanting to destroy our enemies and myself becoming an religious extremist who endorses the sale of children and human beings, who advocates suicide bombings in busy bazaars, who advocates for religious extremism, and every other sickening objective of the Taliban and other fundamentalist Islamic organizations. Please connect the dots for me - show me how my desire to rid the world of subhumans has made me a fundamentalist Islamic terrorist. With respect to the Nazis not being annihilated, perhaps you need a history lesson. Having a few random Nazis rearing their heads from the dirt once in awhile is quite a distance away from what we saw in Nazi Germany. I'd consider that as close to annihilation as reasonably possible.
  2. Just one more thing I'd like to add - I will never be ashamed to be a Canadian. I love this country. This is one of the finest countries on earth, on an extremely short list. I may be angered and disappointed with many things that occur in Canada - crazy opinions of some Canadians and Canadian groups, political decisions, etc. But I am never ashamed of this country's fundamentals. Everytime I travel out-of-country, I always feel this warmth in my heart when I arrive back in Canada and see "Welcome to Canada". I love this country with all my heart.
  3. What are you complaining about? He'll get his day in court. Nobody in here has said he shouldn't be tried. What many of us ARE saying, which you're unable to comprehend, is that we hope he is convicted and executed. That isn't the same as us wishing the justice system was abolished altogether.
  4. Why is it evil to want to annihilate evil? Was it evil to annihilate the Nazis? Is it evil to execute murderers and rapists and child predators? Why am I evil to suggest that Taliban, all of its supporters, and all similar groups of people be dispatched without mercy? I hold hatred for our enemies, and our enemies are not simple people far away with different political opinions on the degree to which government should be involved in our economy. Our enemies are animals who besmirch all of our fundamental values. They torture and execute people without any rule of law - convert to the wrong religion? Well, off with your head! Need a few dollars to but a machine gun? Well, sell off your 12-year-old daughter! Girls trying to learn to read and write when they're forbidden? Well, throw acid in their faces! Belong to the wrong tribe? Well, let's plant IEDs around community centres and schools and markets! These pieces of garbage reject fundamental freedoms, of speech, of religion, of association, of sexual orientation, and of everything in between. They reject gender equalities. They reject education. They reject democracy. They reject everything that makes us great and that we hold dear. Only an extremist left-winger would refer to me as evil and hate-filled for wanting to EXTERMINATE these subhumans WITHOUT PREJUDICE. These barbarians (you dispute that they are barbarians!) should've been annihilated years ago. Unfortunately we always fight with our hands tied behind our backs - silly rules of engagements and absurd laws/rules of war that was always exploited by our enemies.
  5. First of all that's untrue. Second, it's irrelevant. Why don't you actually address my point - is it inappropriate to describe the Taliban and similar tribes as barbarians and savages? What terms would you prefer to use to describe a culture that sells off its children and adults as property, oppresses it women, and implements religious extremism (this is just the tip of the of the iceberg)? Perhaps I should refer to these subhumans as civilizationally challenged? How about freedom-deficient? Explain to me, what is it with extremist left-wingers that compels them to be so terrified to villify those people and groups that need to be villified? Why do extremist left-wingers defend murderers and rapists? Why do they defend savage civilizations that run contrary to everything we stand for? Why are they so afraid to call a spade a spade?
  6. Yes of course, what an evil person I am to condemn cultures that sell their children for a few dollars. How ethnocentric I am to condemn as savages the very same people that throw acid into the faces of girls for daring to attend a school in the hope of becoming literate. How insensitive I must be to call religious fanatics who torture and kill any who transgress their religious laws subhumans. I must be a racist when I refer to suicide bombers are sub-human trash worthy only of extermination. Unlike you, I'm unwilling to compromise democracy and freedom. You are a moral relativist, who thinks that it's inappropriate to judge child killers and religious extremists. In your view, all civilizations and societies are equal, just different. The reality? I'm unafraid and unapologetic to label these animals for what they are - BARBARIANS and SAVAGES that are only worthy only of annihilation. Take no prisoners. Destroy them and crush their towns. The only people who would be offended by such a statement are the animals and savages themselves, and their moral supporters (you, for example).
  7. First of all, I was talking about his mother - she should be arrested and executed. Unfortunately, we don't utilize capital punishment in this country. His mother provides material and moral support to terrorists. With respect to Omar Khadr, I am not opposed to his having a day in court. He will have his day in court. And he will be convicted. I can only hope and pray that he is executed, as well. Lastly, in regards to the Federal Court of Canada demanding that the Canadian government make efforts to repatriate this piece of garbage that is Omar Khadr, this was clearly the court overstepping its authority and venturing into foreign policy. Regardless, Omar Khadr will have his fair chance at justice. American justice is second to none. I suggest you read my posts more carefully before responding.
  8. I like Christiane Amanpour's and John King's shows. Sunday is CNN's only day worth watching.
  9. I'm unconvinced the overall Afghani population can be civilized. Although perhaps I'm wrong, I've seen some inspiring stories. Perhaps the portion of the Afghani population that are subhumans is only 25%?
  10. Yes, how outrageous of me to demand that a Canadian adhere to the values of democracy and freedom. Quite different than demanding that I bow down before Allah. But in your moral relativist mind, neither civilization or value system is superior to the other.
  11. Good question. I'm unsure if it's worth being there. Annihilate the troublesome populations and leave seems to be the best solution. Kill the enemy and GTFO.
  12. Another article here. Clearly this Richard Colvin guy is a traitor on a mission to damage Canada's reputation during a time of conservative leadership. I guarantee you this guy is a Liberal party member. Anyone else watch his ridiculous testimony? He made absurd claims that the decision made by Canada's military to hand over certain detainees to Afghan security forces damaged our mission to win the hearts and minds of the Afghani people. Laughably, he claims that these decisions fuel the terrorists (a treasonous Liberal talking point we've all been hearing for years, that our presence there causes these "people" to become terrorists). Just more of the usual exaggeration of the truth - notice how he says nothing about any of the positive operations of the Canadian military. No mention is made of the Canadian soldiers protecting civilians from Taliban terrorism. No mention is made of Canadian military and civilian efforts to help build Afghani civilian infrastructure. No mention is made of any positive Canadian endeavour that perhaps has contributed towards winning the hearts and minds of certain Afghani populations. Of course the hearts and minds of Afghanistan are only affected by how the detainees are treated by internal Afghani security forces once handed over from Canadian forces. Clearly Canada's legitimacy in the eyes of the Afghani people hinges only on how terrorist detainees are treated by other Afghanis. Ridiculous. I suppose Colvin would prefer that Canadian forces release all detainees! He provides no alternative to the problem faced by the military - what to do with terrorist detainees? He suggested something along the lines of establishing some "rigorous and aggressive" monitoring system for how detainees are treated - AS IF WE DON'T HAVE MORE PRESSING MILITARY PRIORITIES THAT ARE YET UNFULFILLED! Let's not be naive, Afghanistan is a territory of barbarians. Who is naive enough to suspect that there is some sort of internal Afghanistan agency that can manage detainees in accordance with the highest standards? This is a country where it is common to sell daughters off for goats at age 9. Who is naive enough to expect that high levels of human rights can be established in a country of savages? Colvin is suggesting that detainees be treated better than ordinary Afghanis in their ordinary lives! If he had his way it'd be an UPGRADE in lifestyle to be captured by Canadian forces! Pure insanity. Just more absurdity in the name of naive idealism. All Colvin did was weaken Canada today in order to advance his partisan agenda. He is a traitor. Maybe he'll get a book deal and a few nice gigs with the Liberal Party out of it all. Just another case of a left-winger riding the "human rights train" in order to advance his own personal interests at the expense of Canadian national security.
  13. Yes, yes.... let's prevent the public from being outraged when a girl is outraged by attempting to use softer terminology to describe a vicious crime. God forbid the public should have an emotional response to such a sickening crime. Thanks for sharing this story lictor616 - just another case of extremist left-wing ideology. BTW I support execution of vicious sex criminals. Rehabilitation is a complete joke.
  14. I didn't mean to suggest that all deaths in all of the occupations you listed were the result of stupidity or carelessness. Of course deaths can occur in certain occupations even when reasonable measures have been taken to ensure safety. That being said, the vast majority of deaths in most of the occupations you listed can be attributed to negligence. I am aware that fishermen cannot control the weather, but they can certainly watch the weather channel and avoid high risk areas and weather patterns. Either way, you're wrong in suggesting that military service, during war (specifically the most recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq) isn't significantly more dangerous than all other professions. This is undebatable. The statistics also verify this. Feel free to check the casualty rates in the Afghanistan and Iraq theatres and compare these numbers to the total deployments. The rates of casualties (and of course injuries) will eclipse the rates of casualties (and injuries) in all of the "dangerous" occupations you listed originally.
  15. Thanks for the link. Let's now use our brains. How many American troops have been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq since the war began? About 500K? And the casualties so far are just over 5K? That translates to a casualty rate of 1000 per 100K workers - about 10 times higher than the two top careers on that list (logging workers and aircraft pilots). Looks like that information isn't taking into consideration military casualties (or injuries) in recent years. Granted, that's divided over the course of the war. One must also remember that Iraq's never had more than about 250K American troops at any one time. Let's check this site. You can track the number of casualties on a year by year basis. Let's analyze 2008, the year with the lowest number of casualties - 314. I imagine 2008 also had a lower number of deployed troops, as well. Anyways, assuming there were about 150K American troops in Iraq in 2008 (on average), that leaves us with a casualty rate of slightly over 100 casualties per 100K soldiers - still higher than the most dangerous jobs according to your CNN link. Anyways, I don't want to waste any more time on this. It's obvious that wyly, as usual, is wrong. Since the military operations were launched in Afghanistan and Iraq, soldiering for any country that is involved in combat is significantly more dangerous than the "dangerous" careers listed by wyly. I'm certain this isn't surprising to anyone with a brain.
  16. American Woman, as usual, is absolutely correct. Omar Khadr's mother is a terrorist supporter living in Canada who draws moral and material support for terrorists. She needs to be arrested and executed.. Unfortunately, that's most likely not going to happen. Sometimes I wish we had some Casey Jones-type vigilante who would go around and eliminate these animals.
  17. I know you're playing devil's advocate. That's why I don't want to continue the exchange. I'm not here to debate for fun. I'm here to get an idea of how other interested Canadian feel about various political issues. I know that you honestly recognize that Omar Khadr is a terrorist and should be punished. He will have his day in court, and I am confident that justice will be served and he will be given a heavy sentence (hopefully life imprisonment, although execution would be better). Again, in all seriousness, in my view he was guilty as soon as he was picked up in Aghanistan. A young guy, a Muslim, from a terrorist family, living in Afghanistan among terrorists IN CONFLICT. Case closed! He wasn't there on a summer camp adventure learning how make campfires. Beyond that, there are mountains of evidence to seal the deal. Anyways cheers.
  18. First of all, where are you getting those statistics? Secondly, and more obviously, it's clear that if those statistics are accurate, that the casualties are virtually all preventable accidents. If a roofer dies on the job, it's because safety regulations weren't being adhered to. If an iron or steel worker dies on the job, it is again because safety regulations weren't being adhered to. These are all controlled environments. How can not realize that those professions are entirely different than soldiers going into combat against enemies who intend to kill them? The roof isn't trying to kill the roofers, the iron and steel factories aren't trying to kill the factory workers. The accidents are virtually all preventable. I'll make it very simple for you - there is a world of difference between a job that is dangerous if you behave irresponsibly and a job that REMAINS dangerous even when you adhere to all reasonable (and beyond) safety precautions. Please stop suggesting that steel workers are in a more dangerous job than soldiers in combat simply because they make many more mistakes and injure/kill themselves.
  19. Omar hasn't been mistreated. The claims that he's been mistreated/tortured are just lies spread by his defense lawyers and extremist left-wing "human rights" groups. He's been treated entirely too well! He should've been shot on the battlefield, but perhaps the troops felt the might be able to extract some intelligence from him.
  20. Release of terrorists is never the right thing. Putting the lives of our soldiers AT RISK in order to uphold some ridiculous value of human life for SUBHUMANS is never the right thing. These are the same trash that marry off their daughters at age 12. The same trash that blow up busy bazaars. The same trash that honour kill their sisters because they were raped in order to defend their tribal honour. The same trash that want to establish and rigid Islamic state across the land. Why are we so afraid to recognize that these enemies of ours are barbarians and not worthy of compassion? The bottom line is that soldiers are being punished, INCARCERATED FOR FORTY YEARS ON MURDER CHARGES, because they SAVED LIVES. This is insanity.
  21. Iraqi soldiers are to be condemned for simply being Iraqi soldiers. That being said, there aren't anymore Iraqi soldiers fighting against America, anymore. There haven't been for years. It's all terrorists, now. Suicide bombings and IEDs. If you fight in support of tyranny and evil everything you do is condemnable. I know people like you draw moral equivalence between us and our enemies. So don't let me stop you from doing that and going down your usual path. A Nazi soldier is automatically a criminal simply for fighting in support of evil. No ifs ands or buts. Same applies for terrorists. Call it a double standard, if you want. I'm not going to hide my full support for our own cause and extend morality or sympathy to our enemies. If you're so concerned about soldiers killing our enemies (oh, those poor talibanistan terrorists!), then you should support changes to the laws that wouldn't require so much "evidence" in order to hold enemy combatants in custody instead of releasing them within a few days to attack more of our soldiers and conduct more terrorism against civilians.
  22. So what's a private typically earning before he/she goes to Corporal? $35k? $40K? How easy is it for a private without an education to get assistance from the military to pursue a degree? And do degrees have to be relevant, or can a soldier get tuition assistance from the military in order to pursue a nonsense degree like "women's studies"? I guess the unions have done a good job at circumventing supply and demand dynamics and securing wages that are beyond their skillset/education. When compared to the many entry level positions in the government that are paying WAY TOO MUCH, I'd agree military servicepersons should be paid a little more. There's no sense in paying an administrative assistanct at Health Canada more than an infantry soldier. There's no sense in a library employee who drives book from branch to branch more than an infantry soldier. I can give many other examples illustrating this silliness. I'd like to hear more about what you think of opportunities for advancement within the military. Do you feel that the military is doing a good job at identifying its internal talent and pushing them along to more challenging and higher paying positions? Are opportunities often available to high-performing military servicepersons to learn new skills and get to training in order to assume more responsibilities and earn more money? From simpler things like language training to more complex stuff like degrees?
  23. You don't remember the release of the German prisoner who ends up killing the Jewish soldier (played by Adam Goldberg) towards the end of the movie? It illustrated the common trend of recycling released prisoners of war. Regardless, the killing of these terrorists SAVED LIVES. And now we punish the heroes for doing the right thing. It is insanity.
  24. I've got a BSC and a Master's in engineering. I help design water safety monitoring technologies and equipment.
