The problem is Harper and his associates do not have the mental where withall or the experience to pull this off. They are not really sure of procedure and one false move or mistake and it's all over. As well even if the government does fall the best Harper can hope for is a minority. Just how long do you figure he would last put in the same position. Not long I'm afraid. There is too much "old alliance" in this conservative party. If harper had any brains he'd be appealing to the all the people Peter MacKay p*ssed off.

While were [looking back] lets not forget the 9 years of Mulroney.The Conservative leader left power as the most hated prime minister ever and the party itself eventually merged with Alliance Party in a bid to form the official opposition. Leaving many thoroughly disappointed Progressive Conservatives in its wake. The book “On the Take” by Stevie Cameron goes into great detail on how the Conservative Party had essentially put the country up for sale. The book disclosed nine years of bid rigging on government contracts, misappropriation of parliamentary budgets, favors to corporate supporters of the party and an unprecedented orgy of patronage appointments that didn’t end until the day Mulroney left office. That is not to say that this latest misappropriation of funds is justified. On the contrary. The prime minister has taken responsibility, and will see that the people involved in this investigation will be punished and dismissed. While this is truly a black mark on the Liberal party I believe that the Prime Minister will do everything in his power to remove this abusive faction from the party and ensure that this type of thing can not happen again. The Prime Minister has an impressive list of accomplishments and leadership in the past but also new policy and innovation for the future. Well Elder, I guess that settles that eh I like to believe that the PEOPLE act for the most part as grown ups . Which is more than I can say for the powers that be sometimes. They purposely go to the media and pit one against the other to sway public opinion . They ought to be shot with a ball of their own Sh** .

I think both sides if there are two sides speak out of loyalty to their respective countries. I too am guilty of that , however we all know that Canada and US are absolutely locked into a trade position that leaves one in need of the other. I think what we can do for each other is realize that fact. I think we as Canadians like to think we don't need our neighbor to the south and the same might be said of Americans. I believe the US likes to remind us of our Military short falls. I think the US sees Canada as an entry point threat and that is their first concern I don't think the US has the right to ask Canada to join in every time they take action abroad.I think Canada does feel safer alongside the US I believe that living alongside the US has many many benefits and we have to take the good with the bad. I also think that there are benefits to both countries as a result of our geographical position. Having said that I think we owe it to ourselves to get along as separate countries who depend on each other. Personally I think if we as people were left out of the mud slinging by politicians we would get along just fine. I love my florida Oranges and grapefruit and in return I will gladly send you some Bacon and Black Diamond Cheese.

If the US didn't make so many enemies ,,,,it wouldn't need to have such huge military. They've peed off just about everyone who has had anything to do with them. Being a self proclaimed super power doesn't win you any popularity contests. Not to mention being hugely expensive.
