Harper's half-baked proposal
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
maplesyrup Yes there seems to be !!!!! You are a nut case. With your half baked ideas you are really going to get the NDP elected. I don't think so. Canadians are smarter than that. Don't you have anything esle to do but put down Stephen Harper? I think the NDP and the Liberal party are both running scared. They are behaving like children when they don't know what esle to say or do!!!!!! They put someone down. Let's wait and see who is the next Prime Minister. I think it will be Stephen Harper because he has what it takes to be a good prime minister. -
They do have the SRR (sub , ready reserve)People trained to respond if needed. trained ready to go back into service .who have served and retired. but under 65 years of age. Yes the Canadian Arm forces are a mess. They housing is is not good shape either.

Federal Regional Polling - Ontario
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup I think Stephen Harper is going to win by a landside! I think they Canadian people with vote him in as our next Prime Minister. they have seen the future of this country coming together by a new CPC party. Its about time the east and west got together . I also think the Bloc would support Harper when he gets in . I think he will be fair to all Canadians . -
Harper's socially moderate image under attack
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup Stephen Harper is setting a better example than both Paul Martin or Jack Layton. -
takeanumber Yes I agree with you takeanumber! Martin has proven he and his party are tainted! Yesteday at his visit to a day care he was talking about legalizing marijana while sitting with the children . Not a subject to bring up while visiting a day care! That was bad thinking on his part ( he has lost his mind) or it means he will go to any length to be reelected. Shame on Paul Martin  .

Campbell could cost Harper seats in cranky B.C.
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup Thats a laugh Maplesyrup . I think the NDP and LIberals are going to lose seats in B.C to Harper. This race will not be tight near the end of this election . I think the people of Canada will see the light ! If we want a better country we all should vote Stephen Harper by a landslide. Who else is going to tell the people of this country the truth! Not Martin or Layton they are a joke. Martin while visiting in a child day care yesterday has promised to legalize marijana , that was not place to bring up legalizing drugs , ( he has loss he mind. ) The NDP has only two in the house in B.C .. Why do you think they will get more votes in the Federal Election? Layton doesn't have a clue where we will get the money to pay for all his so called new ideas, but I think he is living in the past. He doesn't realize our world is changing fast. -

"right To Work" Laws In Canada
falling leaf replied to Hjalmar's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
takeanumber Maybe so but what about all the non union workers. They are about 80% of the work force trying to make a living . You don't see them out there trying to get all they can out of their employers. I do believe the union workers are unreasonable but I also think they are greedy as well, they have much higher wages than the non union worker and they have beneifits that are insane . They should be sharing the work with others !!!!! You can't get some jobs unless you belong to a union and I don't think that is fair. It should be my choice not to belong to a union. . I would like to see our government bring in the "Right to Work Laws" in this country. This will not happen 'till we have a change in our federal government ,and have a leader who will stand up to the labour unions. This will not be Jack Layton who believes that the labour union workers are more important than the non - union workers even though we are about 80% of the workforce. Considering that union workers are the highest paid and constantly asking for more --- if Jack Layton is supporting them isn't that taking from the poor to give to the rich? -
"right To Work" Laws In Canada
falling leaf replied to Hjalmar's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Laundry would be essential, I was in hospital a few years ago when they had a strike , its not funny to be sitting in your own vomit and not being able to do a think about it ! Also there were food trays not taken away when they should be. I would not want to get staph. etc after an operation . they have to keep a rooms and operating rooms spotless clean because of infections etc. -
Now Maple you have gone off the deep end. How is the NDP going to get more seats in Ontario then the CPC I agree there is no way in hell NDP will get to lead this country! You have lost it Maplesyrup. Like a snow ball in Hell not melting. I loved Tommy Douglas as a family friend ,but I am sure today he would agree with me. He was prolife for one thing . He would never have agreed with alot of the things Jack Layton stands for today. He would never support anyone who would break the laws like the HEU . He was a honest man I don't think Jack Layton is !

Should politicians be jailed for lying?
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes they should be jailed and their pensions taken away so they only live on their old age pension. Stupidity or not They should not get away with it period. One place where we agree maplesyrup. I would also like to bring up one more point. regardless of party when a politian has the floor , they should be about to speak without being hackled by the other side of the house. This would save time and money . -
Why Harper won't get my vote
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Bro I don't believe a word of that NDP B/S When hell freezes over they will superior. How can anyone in this country believe, that we can have all the things NDP talk about and still have money in the bank. -
Free Speech for rich people?
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup I don't think so Maplesyrup , What is the NDP hiding? You will eat your words after the election is over. Stephen Harper has nothing to hide. Can't say that for the liberals or NDP. We need some one to lead this country who uses common sense and smarts as well and doesnt go around bad mouthing others like Martin and Layton do. I am going to vote for Stephen Harper and I am sure alot of other Canadians will too. I can't wait till he runs circles around Martin and layton in the debate. -
Bro I could not have said it better myself Bro. If we were all NDP there would be no money left in just a few short years. They do not have a clue when it comes to money sense. They think it grows on trees.

Biggunner I don't think they have that much support in B.C . (NDP) They have only 2 in the House. hahahahaha The Okanagan is not liberal country either. hahahaha . Its Tory country, like Alberta. I live there!

Latest Globe and Mail Opinion Poll
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
willy I agree willy -
maplesyrup I think Martin is toast. Jack layton is in for a big shock, He will not get the votes he needs to win. I think Harper going to take the lead. I like the strong silent type who does not , slander the others. Both Martin and Layton have said enough to not get my vote. I am now waiting for the debate! I think Harper will come out on top, leaving both Martin and layton in his dust.

The Death Of The "welfare State"
falling leaf replied to Hjalmar's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
August 1999 I think Hjalmar has a point here! I hear from people all the time their excuses for not voting. 1. Not into politics 2. I am too busy trying to make a living to take interest in anything but my job. 3. I don't know what party to vote for so I am not going to vote. 4. Some even couldn't tell you what party is running our country at the moment , and where Ottawa is. 5. Some can't even tell you who our Prime Minister is, or where he came from. 6. Heres my favorite one , why should I vote - this country is not going to change. Maybe a test isn't a bad idea for people who don't even know the basics about our countries history ,economics ,political history, Maybe just a common sense test, We do have to take tests to drive. or enter higher education, Why not to vote. -
A taboo subject in Canada!
falling leaf replied to falling leaf's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We would get more for our money if they would respect each other and listen to the speaker reguardless of what party and take the best ideas from all who speak. There should be fines in place for those who choose not to listen ! If they would debate in a respectful manner , maybe we would have a country to be proud of. It would be a fine example to our children and grandchildren. Also a fine example to the rest of this world. Its amazing what comes from young children , maybe we can all learn from them. -
Why did PM Martin failed in Washington
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup You are not up to speed Maplesyrup .Martin and Mulroney were not even in the same party. How do you know he failed ? Do you know things that CSIS doesnt . By the way no country tells all details about what they do . It only becomes public Knowledge after it is read in the House of Commoms. -
NDP quickly closing gap, within 5% of Cons
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maplesyrup If Jack Layton is so great why isn't he on the picket line with rest of his union buddies? The only way he will get enough support to have official party status is through his labour union buddies. The NDP will never run this country. -
And another thing about that Jack Layton
falling leaf replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
To all reading this thread Tommy Douglas was no nazi. Its not that he would'nt be welcomed by the NDP , He just would not like way they do things today! Yes he was prolife, was a great family man and a very hard worker, with compassion for his country. But like I have said before , He would have left the NDP party. -
