  1. USA Today All you cheering for the success this gives to the people better watch out, lest ye get rochambeaud... ...
  2. Yes presumably they've got their next henchman ready, now.
  3. Since Mubarrak was the US henchmen this whole thing is just a condemnation of US foreign policy in the region.
  4. Not gone yet- CAIRO — President Hosni Mubarak told an expectant Egypt on Thursday that he had delegated some powers to his vice president but would keep his title and not leave the country. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41506482/ns/world_news-mideastn_africa/ Mubarak: "Rumours of my death, are greatly exaggerated..."
  5. It sounds to me like you're saying, you don't see a problem with flouride at the current levels, for any reason. I guess the US government, various countries in Europe, and some Canadian municipalities have got it completely wrong then...
  6. No because your mentor Dick Cheney says, he is our friend. That's why I say they, don't really want him gone.
  7. Good question. Apparently certain right wingers have been seen wearing old Quebec Nordiques hockey jerseys...
  8. This whole situation is now becoming kind of absurd. These people are rallying, night after night by the thousands. Yet the man will not stand down. I wonder what President Barrack Hussein Obama thinks about that. Because I think if Obama really wanted this guy gone, he'd a been gone already.
  9. Que. arena could get federal gas tax funds Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government has a new plan to funnel millions of federal tax dollars into a controversial plan to build a new NHL arena in Quebec City, CBC News has learned. Read more: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2011/02/09/weston-quebec-arena-feds.html#ixzz1DZKbKnpB Now we see the whoredom that is inherent in the system.
  10. Sounds great to me. How many virgins are they offering?
  11. Well I'll sleep better at night knowing that you think so, segnosaur.
  12. When I think of christianity I think of brotherly love, mercy, forgiveness for the repentant. These are the main tenets of the religion, what it teaches to its followers, I think. And whether you believe in the pope or not, or some preacher man, should have absolutely nothing to do with that. It seems Jesus himself had a lot of criticism for those same types. His message was that no man had ultimate authority over the individual.
  13. Flouride has been controlversial for many years. I'm inclined to go with nature, and say we don't need any extra flouride added to our water to help with dental health. Just stick to cleaning your teeth, and do it well that should be good enough. I also wonder how harmful that flouride is, not just for people who ingest it but also for the environment at large. All that flouride is added to city water year after year, and it eventually all goes into the water cycle.
  14. Those are problems but they can be solved. For one thing, simple exercise machines. There's no question the human body needs to exert physical force. They would have to spend their days in the on-board gymnasium. In fact if they were to connect the weight lifting machines to a generator, and use it to help power the space-craft somehow, then they'd be adding to the acceleration of the vehicle. Remember there are little or no external forces of gravity on the craft in deep space, so any force you add is very efficient. There I've just invented another type of propulsion system.
  15. They (astronomers) have done some spectroscopy as well, including temperature and chemical composition. Here is one example- http://www.eso.org/public/news/eso1002/
  16. Point is, there's people who are willing to risk their lives to do great things, all the time. Not everyone, of course. Some would rather prefer to sit behind their keyboard and hurl slander toward others. Now that's accomplishment...
  17. Miles entered the scene during the bebop era, but soon he and a few others realized that they too were becoming a "cliche" in the use of certain musical phrases. Miles and people like John Coltrane sought to take jazz music to the next level. His innovations include the birth of "cool jazz", and he's a major influence on many successive generations of jazz musician, including Pat Metheney and John Scofield. As Miles would say, "never finish a phrase". Well we've gone a long way from The Who in this one. Now back to flying cartwheel-like strumming, of eternal A chords...
  18. Life is a one-way trip.
  19. Au contraire, I think that he would. He really would...
  20. I have always felt that, one can study books and listen to the words of other people, and this is a good thing because it at least shows a need to search for spiritual knowledge, to find out about the meaning of things and in this case what motivates us to be "good" or "bad". But it can also lead to distraction because, there must be a knowledge that does not require us to find it within books. Else, only the literate could enter heaven...
  21. People do seem to be rather pissed off at each other lately. Must be all the snow
  22. Yeah he does use a slide, no question about it. On the tune "Breathe" (Dark side of the moon) you can hear it. In the video "Live at Pompeii" you can see him using a slide on such classics as "Syncopated Pandemonium" and "Set the controls for the heart of the Sun".
  23. Your judgement means nothing to me, absolutely nothing. I wouldn't expect you to undertand, nor do I intend to persuade you. Suffice to say, I'll take the abuse, I'll take the punishment, I'll do your time. To be reviled and hated by people such as you, is the ultimate justice of the universe.
  24. You can call me jackass all you want, I don't care but I will not vote now that I have been disillusioned by the scam we call democratic elections. Over the years I have heard every lie conceivable cme out of politicians mouths, and, being a person who learns from mistakes, I have now reached the point where I will not vote, on principle. It may not matter to you or anyone else, but at least I can look myself in the mirror and not feel ashamed, for putting my name/ vote of support to someone who is a liar and a criminal. I have no confidence in any single one of them. So let me be judged for that, accordingly.
  25. Generally the "greatest ever" just means, the one I like the most. me, I've been playin the ol' guitar for over 30 years now. Yeah I strummed a few G chords in my day. Led Zep set the standard template for rock bands with the dazzling dark haired but shy guitarist, and the oh so cute blonde guy who was the frontman. But for me it was Jimmy Page who was the important member of the band. I also liked Pink Floyd. Dave Gilmour was mentor to me. Those bluesy bends, and the big tone. Now I still play guitar, but am more into jazz, like the bebop stylings of Wes Montgomery. I love classical guitar too. When I look back and think about all the styles and guitarists I have enjoyed listening to over the years, I still love all those guys. So "best" is a relative term. There really is no "best".
