A bit of history may help you as well. America won its independance & freedom buy fighting its OWN wars. I do not think that we should not try to stop terrorism & drugs, but I do think the US should stop giving terrorists an excuse (occupying & trying to run their countries) I do not think the US should be allowed to fly over fields in Columbia & other nations, spraying defoliants on what may or may not be coco or pot or poppy fields. BTW, how much better is life in these former commie countries since the fall of Communism?? Jim

The reason I think they "enjoy" killing Americans is because they think America is trying to run "their" country by means of violence. Violence breeds violence. I would be shooting, exploding, bombing everything in sight myself if a foreign invader came to Canada & told us how to live our lives. America already does that to us, just with non-violent means. (Give ol' GW another term & he may attack us yet) What I am saying is help the flowers bloom in your own backyard & let the weeds grow in theirs. The time & money the US spends overseas would be much better spent fixing their own problems. The mideast war has been around for 1000s of years & it ain't going away anytime soon! Jim

:angry: Unions, especially public sector, are a joke. There was a time & a place for them, which has long since past. Trust me, what we need now is an EMPLOYERS union. Employees nowadays can get away with murder & not too much can be done about. The days of firing employees on the spot are all but over. First there must be verbal warning, then 3-4 written warnings & on & on & on & then they can still try to sue. I say that Unions have ruined/are ruining our workforce & teaching our children that if they don't get their way they can bitch & complain & cry til they get their way. This nonsense of unionized workers being more skilled & dedicated is the biggest laugh off them all. I'll pit any non union workers against some union jokers in their area of expertise, not only will the non union workers do a better job, but will do way more efficiently as well!! As for the public sector unions, cross a civil servant with a union & you get the whiniest, laziest thing under the sun. Take for example last year, the Toronto Parks dept start their yearly whine when volunteers wanted to plant flowers & clean up the parks. The Union said "No way, thats taking work away from our employees" The union doesn't own the parks, the people of Toronto & Ontario & Canada own them. Don't even get me started on the teachers..... So to sum it up, Yes, any Canadian should be free to work any place they choose & not have to be involved with a Union, anything less would be an infringment of basic human rights. In a perfect world, Mike Harris would be PM of Canada Jim (Non union & proud of it)

X69 I do have a solution but the US doesn't what to try it. First remove all western military equipment & personnel from the Mideast, take it back home, mind your own business, send a monthly cheque for your oil bill to Iraq & let them do what they want. Then they will have no reason to attack you after that. Other than that, there are no other feasible solutions. Jim

Maybe Spain thinks its first mistake was joining the unwinnable war in the first place. There always has been & always will be terrorism, especially in & from the Mid East. A dent or two may be put in the AQ, but the war will never be won. Just like the war on drugs, as much as someone likes to think they are winning, they are not even close. I would have to say China will be the next "Superpower" The Americans would take them easily in the Air & WMD department, but I am sure the Chinese would win on the ground. They have the #s & they are a fierce & very well disciplined soldier. I don't think you'll see it in our lifetime, but ya never know...??? Jim

Hi My name is Jim & I am new to this board. Looks like lots of fun here. Can't wait to get involved. I am not involved in politics, nor do I know much of what goes on in politics except issues that interest me, but I vote & have an opinion so thats good enough for me & the rest of the free world!! Lately I have been hearing radio ads from the Ontario teachers union about "200 minutes" This is the amount of time teachers apparently need to do this, that & the other. Do these teachers & their union ever stop?? I thought when Harris left (boy I miss him) we might hear the end of their rantings....NO WAY....then when the LIEbrals came in, I thought for sure DOLTON would just throw $$$ at them & they would shut up...no such luck!! What is it going to take to satisfy these people???
