  1. Actually, I don't hate refuges or those who came to came to Canada through legitimate channels. Those immigrants make up a very small percentage. The immigrants we get now are economic migrants, country reject losers who couldn't make it wherever they came so they come here and drive down wages and living standards.

"Economic class" immigrants are those who come with enough money to set up business to give others jobs.

Who I hate is the filthy Boomer white trash ;) Who have prostituted Canada for their own gain and driven Canada into cultural immolation. I don't have the luxury of going to back to a country I came from otherwise I would leave this cultural shithole.

    pity <_<

Because in simple terms, I do not care about you and what you say means crap in the bigger scheme of things.

    likewise. :P

(Good grief! When will these dinosaurs depart! )

So what's really at the root of this tirade? What have 'they' done to you?

You seem to have a real personal beef or grief going on. Maybe you should deal with that instead of taking it out on 'the immigrants'?

  2. Because it should be obvious to anyone that not everyone who gets persecuted by this law is guilty. I know I certainly wasn't!! I was only going 117Km on a 400 series highway when I was charged with going 158 km. Now I am literally on the hook for thousands of dollars I can't afford to prove my innocence.

    How did that happen?

Seems to me your problem isn't proving the law is wrong, but just proving you didn't break the law.

  3. Thanks marksman. My sentiments exactly. Attitudes and public rudeness like that of our 'Jerry Seinfeld' (who is not as funny as his name would suggest) are the reason some Quebecers would prefer not to associate with Canada.

I think one of our real issues in Canada, as far as all of us getting along, is the western attitude of superiority. I never heard anyone in Ontario dis westerners, but when you go there, boy do you hear them dis us! Fact is, those who have those attitudes would like to ditch the rest of the country and sometimes I wish they would just stop whining and do it. However, being Canadians, we'd probably make a caravan to convince them to stay too!

I'm not saying the redistribution of taxes across the country is fair as it stands. It likely does need some work. However, those who whine about being a 'have' province should consider the future when they may 'have not'. Natural resources are all on Indigenous land. They do not belong to the provinces. As Indigenous people say "Did you bring that oil with you from Europe?"

  4. Angus is right. If you at least name one such occurance in 'white non-Muslim' culture, then the question has some validity beyond purely the hypothetical. The only thing dear old dad 'forces' me do with him in the wilderness is sit in a 12 foot car-topper until we reach our limit in trout. My friends growing-up enjoyed similar 'commando training' from their 'looneytoon' fathers.

    :)

    -------------------------------------

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

    ---Theodore Roosevelt

It is the ridiculous nature of my hypothetical scenario that is the point: It is ridiculous to think that a Canadian father would do that to his child. However, one did. And now we blame the child?

  5. There's nothing in "International law" that makes deporting illegal aliens who engage in criminal activity "illegal". If members of Six Nations do not feel themselves to be Canadians, then they are illegal aliens.

You know what it says to me when a so-called nation is subject to the fiduciary duty of a larger political entity...?

Again, that's ridiculous. You cannot "deport" people out of their homeland.

  6. Only Rae, Ignatieff and Kennedy are credible candidates at this point (since they finished in the top 4).

Manley and McKenna have both previously ruled out running. They may in the future change their minds, but until then, neither of them are realistic candidates.

Party people will reject Kennedy because he gave them Dion. However, they will do so in their own interests, not in the interests of Canadians. I think he's the best candidate now. It remains to be seen whether they'll let him run. If not, we'll know where the party loyalties lie and it isn't with us!

  7. It doesn't matter if it is "traditional" or not. The land was granted to Six Nations, and they subsequently sold parts of it off. They mismanaged their affairs, did not keep proper records, and Canada cannot be faulted for that now, over 150 years later. Moreover, if you want to get into whether the land was "traditional," that would require assessing whether the Crown legally purchased the land from the Ojibway, and whether the Iroquois owe survivors of the Huron, Petun, and Neutrals who were exterminated or driven from their land.

Now, I'll ask the question again, and please be so kind to politely respond. If Canada passed a law that called for the deportation of the people of Six Nations to Cuba, would the law be valid, and would Canada have the duty to carry out that law?

No, because it is illegal under International law, and stupid. How about instead we should deport you to the big 'white nation' waiting for you at the north pole.

You are missing the point: Traditional land is what matters for "Duty to consult". The governments must consult about development on all traditional lands, whether under land claim or not. It's about "A say in development and a share in resources" on all traditional Indigenous land. That's "Aboriginal Rights". For example, the City of Hamilton consults with Six Nations about development because of their traditional land rights on all of the land under the NanFan Treaty.

Land claims, which you described, are a separate issue pertaining to Aboriginal Title. I'm not going to argue those with you, as neither of us can know the full truth until they are individually settled. And, as I said, it is irrelevant to "Aboriginal Rights" which exist anyway.

You really don't know what you are talking about though. The government holds Six Nations traditional lands 'in trust' and has a fiduciary duty to conduct their financial affairs re the land. It is Canada that has not produced an accounting of the monies related to sales and leases of lands.

  8. So if the Canadian government passed a law today stating that all members of Six Nations should be deported to Cuba, would you still believe that "our governments respect our laws"? Or are the laws only legitimate when they benefit Six Nations?

That's impossible. Stupid comeback. Answer the question. Never mind. Your opinion is worthless anyway.

The laws must be followed. The supreme law of Canada protects the rights of all people, including Aboriginal rights. That takes precedence over criminal law.

That is why the police must uphold rights on both sides. There should be no building on traditional Indigenous land without consultation and accommodation of Indigenous rights.

    That is the law.

  9. That's not my point at all, On the battlefield their is no such thing as a child soldier,

Yes there is ... by international law. If you don't know that, I suspect you are just a wannabe, not a real soldier.

Again, I will say I am glad Omar came across US soldiers not ours, if you are an example. We know executions happen. They executed the man with him, shot Omar twice in the back and were about to finish him off when someone realized how young he was.

eta - Rereading your posts, it is clear that you know nothing about the facts of this case at all. There is NO evidence that Omar killed anyone. Read some reports before you spout off in ignorance, please. It is quite likely that Omar is not guilty of anything.

Suppose some white, non-Muslim looneytoon Canadian father forced his 10 year old son into an overseas military training camp and then into a war.

Would you be so quick to be so hateful?

  10. Ok, What does this have to do with the Conservatives Giving away what little in the way of Full Time Employment opportunites there are to foreigners on Work Permits? The Conservatives have enabled Employers to bypass Canadian Job Seekers to fill Employment openings at their company. Often these employers only have to quickly advertise a position then immediately claim they can't find the skillset within Canada and then they are able to recruit abroad. Once these newly recruited workers are here in Canada the Conservatives have rolled out the red Carpet to granting these individuals permanent resident status which enables them to have a vote on who is elected to government. The Conservatives are crapping on Canadians and those immigrants who came to Canada through legitimate channels.

Canada's unemployment is 6%. 6% of 34 million is 2 million people looking for work. Canada created 100 hundred thousand jobs in September (mostly partime dishwasher/restraunt jobs - if you can call those jobs). That leaves 1.9 million people still looking for work. So Why are the conservative giving away Canadian opportunities to Foreigners?

Not only are the Conservatives Giving away Canadian jobs they are now giving 25 Billion dollars to the Banks to buyup all their subprime mortgages. These are mortgages made to immigrants and those with iffy credit who will default on their mortgage should they lose their job. So not only are the Conservative Giving away your jobs they are giving away your hard payed tax dollars to these so called economic migrants.

My premise from the start is to protest the Governor Generals office, The Queen's Address in England, and the International Court to make them aware of the Evil being wrought on Canada by the Political and Bureacratic Trash of Canada.

The trash have prostituted Canada to the world for what exactly I do not know. As a god loving man I suggest these trash heed God's words very closely because I am sure God will revisit their iniquity upon them in his own time. These trough eatings politician and bureacrats know not what they have done nor do they have any regard for what they have done to Canada. I will say Canada is the land of the devils.

    EZRA 9

10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments.

11 Which thou has commanded by the servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.

12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth forever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.

You want to spit on God, take heed and do so at your own immortal peril  Filthy trash is what filthy trash does.

My my ... what ever happened to 'turn the other cheek'. Tsk tsk. Such unattractive ranting ... and proselytizing too! Oh gmab! 'Canada is the land of the devils' eh? And it's all the fault on non-white immigrants?

 Well .... I guess you see what you want to see when you look through racist glasses!

  11. The party system is no longer democratic nor useful, imo. I am glad to see some people who are willing to work across party lines for the good of the country. It's only politicos who see a problem with this, but they don't understand Canadians anyway and they don't know how little we care about 'the party'.

  12. The Greenshift is revenue neutral for the government, not for companies or individuals. You don't know what you're voting for.

A company's taxes stay the same, but are shifted from a tax on its profits to a tax on the energy it uses.

Same for a household, and either a household or a company can reduce their energy costs and benefit from the plan.

Your conclusion is the opposite of the statement, typically tory spinerama.

So ... what's Harper's plan again? He has no plan that he will tell the public in advance - he'll just spring it on us. We have no friggen idea what the man will do in office - knit sweaters?

I'm thinking we gave Harper a fair chance, and he's just becoming more secretive, less democratic, just like we feared. The man is an authoritarian very impatient with any semblance of democracy. And he cheats and lies about it.

I think it's time to give Dion a chance. He hasn't had time to get addicted to power like Harper is, so he may tell us the truth for a while.

  13. But the Supreme Court of Canada is a Canadian court of law, and apparently Indians don't feel that they are bound by Canadian (and Ontario) law when they are arrested for breaking the law. So why do laws that benefit Six Nations have to be respected, while at the same time they don't respect the law or feel themselves bound by it?

Do you agree that our governments must respect our laws?

That is all that is required.

  14. The way they conduct themselves has a direct negative impact on my society and my country, so don't bloody tell me not be concerned their "business".

Yeah, it couldn't have anything to do with the fact that many people on Six Nations are theives. I think of that kid last years who was killed when he and his buddy stole an SUV in St. Kitts. Or how many times "Ohsweken" is stated as place of residence for someone convicted of auto theft.

calm down. I'll 'bloody tell you' anything I like. It's a discussion board.

You keep making these racist generalization that are positively sicko.

Petty much a one trick pony, aincha!

  15. OK the info is within the links you just have to dig for it. Below is not current but it will give you an idea on what Young mr. Khadr was doing in a combat zone..Or what i called Prowling....

The link i gave you is a poor one, Not really making my piont, as some of it conflicts with other evidance given.....but if you look at all the evidance and keep an open mind to things like, A battle field is a very confusing place, and very often each soldier will tell or see things differently, like being in a drawn out car crash....so yes stories will conflict....does not mean it did not happen...

Also he was filmed planting mines and IED's, Most NATO rules of engagement, are to eliminate people who plant IED's on site....and if you've been involved in an IED strike you'll know why....Bomb making material was also found at the site he was captured...

    Khadr

Give me a break, he was trained in a terrorist training camp, was in an active combat zone, what that means is he is trained to respond, do you actually think he was an innocent bystander, in the middle of a gun fight....no, they were attacked and all responded , all all with exception of himself were killed, read the account of the battle "he"'s a lucky guy to get out of it alive....Americans will use every Wpns sys available to win a fire fight....i'm surprised there is anything left....

mout piont, i agree that torture should not be used to gather info, soft torture is a grey area....not a big fan....but it does not mean that the info he provided was no good , if it could be backed up by another source...

Every soldier that comes here to Afgan has atleast 6 month training before going outside the wire, don't have it, your not going outside the wire period....the training is as such that you don't think you react, and putting bullets on target is done without having to think about it...no doubt, no feelings, no time to think....It's after wards that all that happens, and we don't recieve enough training on that event....

Your right, he should have been returned to Canada stripped of his citizenship, and deported hopefully taking the rest of his family with him....setting the example to the rest of the terrorist operating here in Afgan with Canadian citizenship....Not drug out, smeared all over the media, everyone whinning he's only a child ....he's a terrorist and should be dealt like one...

Army guy, you are a scary dude.

I hope you are not in our army now.

Do you know what 'evidence' is?

Do you know that circumstantial evidence - he was there, he was trained - isn't enough to convict someone?

Do you know what a child is?

    Fortunately, one American soldier did.

Fortunately, American soldiers are standing up for him and telling the truth.

  16. The reason i say actions is this, i'll use your African child soldiers, abducted and beaten into submission, and his life or families lives threaten to fight for a war lord....but that very child knows what they are about to do is wrong....it is here they must decide ....it is thier actions that will determine thier fate....kill inocent people and live, or die so inocent people will live....you make the chioce and carry it out with actions....

Children do not have the legal responsibility to make those decisions.

    Omar is a child soldier.

You angry and violent people are either abused children or certifiable adults.

  17. Oh, here we go again. Not Canadian you say? Where do they get their social assitance from, and in what currency? What government agencies do they work with in establishing their social and educational programs? It's absolutely absurd to claim that they are not Canadian. If they are not Canadians, then any and all benefits and services provided to Canadian services should be stopped at once, and they should be removed from this country as any illegal alien should be.

As for it not being "none of our business" what happens in their community, you've got to be nuts. Six Nations is the centre of crime in this region. How many "smoke shops" are operating on Six Nations? What about the smuggling, organized crime, human trafficking? Over 6,000 stolen cars are tracked back to Six Nation per year. Domestic violence rates are 8 time that of non-aboriginal communities, rampant teen pregnancy, fetal alcohol syndrome is pandemic. You're telling me that the rest of us should not be concerned about these people?

We should be concerned about living up to our legal responsibilities. Other than that - absolutely - it's none of our business!

ps Are you not aware that dumping stolen cars on reserves is the oldest trick in the book? I have personally met some of Gary McHale's supporters who are engaged in that 'business'.

  18. The queen does not own our land, and the monarch did not write our constitution our constitution was given to us by the British parliment, we have molded it and shaped it ourselves.

Did you know that we could end up with a different successor to the Canadian throne than the British? When the British changed their sucession laws we did not.

You are correct that the Queen does not own 'our' land, but perhaps not for the reason you think.

The 'Crown' holds land 'in trust' for Indigenous Peoples who hold the underlying Aboriginal Title. The Crown's title is vested in the treaties, and your property title is vested in the Crown's title.

The Crown's treaties allow us to live on Indigenous land. That is why we are tied to the Crown - the Queen's treaties define Canada - define our rights to live here.

    Canada's Treaties with Indigenous Nations

  19. Why do you this immigrants are always something eles first and Canadian second? Chinese Canadian, Dutch Canadian, ect. not Canadian - Chinese, Canadian-Dutch, ect?

Because they are xxx (adjective)-Canadian (noun)

And I'm happily Irish-Canadian. My family has been since 1847.

But I live in an Italian-Canadian area, which is fast dispersing.

Give it a rest, already. Integration into Canadian life takes time, sometimes a generation.

Always has. Your ancestors did too.

There are a lot of generalized anti-immigrant slurs in your comments.

Perhaps your family had to endure that too.

Which wave of immigration is your family from?
