  1. Nader is a non factor. Democrats should not pay any attention to him. If they attempt to pander to the Nader crowd, they risk alientating the moderates that are considering Kerry - and send them into the arms of the Repugs. Nader doesn't draw support from either party...he brings his own supporters to the polls who vote for him. Otherwise, they do not vote at all.
  2. Safe injection sites are not a new idea. They are being used elsewhere in the world and are quite successful. The city does not control the flow of illegal drugs into the country, that is the obvious jurisdiction of the federal government. But since the fed's are more concerned with lining the pockets of friends and insiders of the Liberal party with millions of dollars of taxpayers money, border security and enforcement of the current drug laws take a back seat. The city is forced to react to a bad situation with a unique solution.
  3. The NDP will do well in urban areas, with the exception of Calgary and Edmonton. In fact, look towards Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax, Victoria, Windsor for NDP gains in this election. As for rural areas, look north. Look to the non urban Vancouver Island ridings. Northern Ontario, and of course Sask/Manitoba for NDP gains too. If the Layton NDP doesn't fly past their 44 seat total record, they will come very close.
  4. We on the left would also love to campaign against Stronach. Although both Harper and Clements are easy targets too. We would love to rail against a wealthy corporate elitist who was born into wealth and has the backing of Mulroney. I'm cheering Stronach all the way to the bank!
  5. Indeed, Ekos is not a very accurate polling agency. They inflated liberal support into the high 50's when every other agency was putting liberal support in the high 40's. This poll is an attempt to say, 'yes we are recovering, and the conservatives are our target'...but the reality is, and has been proven by more accurate polling, that the liberals are in trouble from both sides...only, the ndp pose a critical threat in the very urban base that the liberals thought they had. this poll is a stunt, and little else...
  6. What happened in Alberta? Why did the conservatives drop by 11 points? This is the home base of the conservatives and yet they lose ground to the NDP and Liberals?
