Could a private group or individual start one or would that somehow be illegal. fyi organ donation pool = members agree to give organs to other members first if they die before organs donated to the general pool.

Another thread that just turned into bashign Muslims. The key point here, and I think we can all agree, is in Canada we need to treat everyone equal. Everyone should have the same rights to and rights from. If you break a law your race, religion, ethnic group, sexual orientation or background/upbringing should not be a factor.

Canada being better than the US is not the point at all. There is no better country than Canada. Canada is the best country in the world. (these are my views, I never stated these are 'facts') Having gone to many places I can say there is no where I would rather have been born or live. Winters and summers suck a bit though I would def condering living in the USA, it is one of the best countries int he world and has some amazing cities. There are so m any great things about the States. And I dunno how the heck you could choose.......

Fine I have no cred. I dont really care about that. The point is, if you want to defend the idea that Canada and the US are equal and that no society or country can be better than any other one and cultural relativism makes sense 100% you can do that. But no one is going to do that because that position is undefendable. All I said was in my view, due to my personal experinces, Canada is a better country. I dont feel the need to go into detail because its off topic. The real issue is Canadians defining themselves on being better than America/Americans, which is bloody stupid. I think Canada is better than a lot of countries, as is my right, but I would never define myself on it (besides maybe in respect to tolerance as this is important to me). My user name is the paradox I feel about how society should be governed. On the one hand the government should stay out of peoples lives and do as little as they can. This doesnt work. On the other hand the government needs to step in and push people in the right direction. This also doesnt work.\ It really depends on the specific set of circumstances (clearly). well its the internet. People can pretty much take whatever view they want. I know what Im talking about in regards to this issue, if you dont think I do then I dont care (why would I). A lot of people who post on message boards dont know what they are talking about, yet their views are given just as much weight. If you want to debate the cultural, economic, and social differences between Canada and the US I would love to. I just fail to see the point.

Your whole post (even though you didnt say much) appeared to be sarcastic. If it wasnt, I appologize, I took your comments as sarcasm. If they legalize this clearly there will be cases of a women with many wives and or husbands. It would have to be legalized for everyone. Then we would get some wierd situations (transexuals with multiple husbands and wives come to mind lol). Neither of these things are things I myself would do. Its up to the courts. I find it intresting that: Marriage is such an diverse institution, existing far before organized religion, now of course it is basically a legal contract and nothing more unless people make it more (which most do). Marriage has nothing to do with love or religion unless those involved make it so. Plural marriages almost certainly existed before organized religion. Not to say the above 2 statements 'prove' it should be legal of course. Trying to stop violence against partners, controlling partners, and underage people marrying are DIFFERENT ISSUES. wow.

I know and am friends many americans and canadians, I have travelled a lot in both countries. I have talked to my friends about their experinces there and here. What is this, some kind of questioning to see if my point of view is valid when I saw that in my view Canada is better than America? Thats not even the point. If you want I suppose I could go into detail about WHY Canada is better than the US. But that serves no purpose.
