Dickey ain't looking good. He got socked by Team Mexico yesterday. Johnson's looking good, though. Nice to see Teixiera join Granderson too. Making it look easy this year.

Kenney would be an excellent choice, a real leader, a man of principal. Does he consider himself a westerner? He was born in Oakville (GTA) and raised in Saskatchewan. Even Harper is truly from Toronto, though his heart in Calgary. Hopefully it's true, time to pass the torch to Kenney.

Australian Islamists convicted of carrying out sharia punishment

There is one religion that does take these prescriptions literally, that is Islam. That is the underlying problem. -
Australian Islamists convicted of carrying out sharia punishment
Chris+ replied to Chris+'s topic in The Rest of the World
Yes, I am aware of this story at the Mile End YMCA and lived in Montreal at the time. I can't say for certain if he was trying to run me down I have no problem ending this right, though I dont' think it is needed nor advisable. Muslims live in the heart of Israel in peace, while Christians and others can hardly exist in Muslim countries. Jews have already been ethnically cleansed from the Islamic world. That is why I have no problem personally with Jewish law, even with the few Haredi radicals, as opposed to sharia law which I feel is totally criminal, draconian, barbaric, and has no place at all in Canada. -

The Hassedim are too few to concern ourselves with. I have no problem stripping them of their 'rights' but I also have no problem with them, period. I cannot say the same about draconian sharia law. Please remember, Jews do not seek to apply their laws upon us. All the <Hassedim> seek to do, is live their quiet noble lives in their respective colonies, being loyal to their Hasham. Islam seeks to have all cafeteria food banned during Ramadan, because two Muslims (out of 900 students) are fasting. Big difference... ban them all for I care, if not, there is no shame in making sharia law the exception it is. -
Pakistani Progresses Amazes the World, RIvals Singapore and Israel

Pakistan is going to have to be broken back up sooner then later. The Saudi sponsored terrorism against Pakistani minorities is getting out of hand. -
We need a strong Pope of an ethnic background (preferably South Asian or African) to combat Islam. I am liking the dude from Ghana or the cardinal from Sri Lanka, enough of these useless European Popes-- even an American would be better. Islam must be fought. We need a Pope who can be our crusader, our protector, our voice, to combat radical Islam. We need to wake up the masses who haven't heard the good word, I am liking the prospect of Africa and Asia as targets. Both nicely uneducated, poor, misery strucken, making it futile ground for religion to flourish. Let's be sure that Christianity reaches them before Islam does.

Australian Islamists convicted of carrying out sharia punishment
Chris+ replied to Chris+'s topic in The Rest of the World
There is no such punishment. I was a gentile goy living on Van Horne Street some years ago in Montreal, just down from the heart of the Chassidic (black hat) premier community in Canada and nobody bothered me-- the worst thing that happened to me was one, large, blackhatter tried to run me down in his minivan on Hutchison/Bernard street for violating the shabbat. He missed and I survived. Other then that, I did not feel like I was in hostile territory. We may have to make it clear the Islamic sharia is not like other religions. Jews are also not seeking to force their ways upon us, while Islam is expansionist. -

Of course it isn't, subjects under a shariah state are subject to the sharia, whether Muslims or kaffir (non-believers) We in Canada must learn from the mistakes from Europe. The sharia must remain part of the criminal code of Canada, not the legal code, forever and ever. Amen. -

Wahabi Islam it nuts. It is more of a cult then anything. Most Muslims in Canada come here to flee such behavior. Salafism/Wahabism cannot ever live in peace with the west, Canada or itself. -
Australian Islamists convicted of carrying out sharia punishment

The real crime here from my perspective wasn't drinking or doing drugs, but joining the wrong club (Wahabism). He knew what he was getting involved in, if you want to play the game then play by the rules. I am guessing now that Mr. Martinez (the victim) claims he is still a believer because he knows what the sharia punishment will be should he revert (apostasy), death. -

Ok my apologies. I agree with Mr Christian Martinez's Sheikh, he got less then he deserved! -
40 lashes under 'Islamic law': men guilty of assault Date February 28, 2013 - 12:39PM Four men have been found guilty of giving a Sydney electrician 40 lashes with a cable, which they said was a punishment under Islamic law for drinking alcohol and using drugs. Zakaryah Raad, Tolga Cifci, Wassim Fayad, and Cengiz Coskun were today convicted of several charges relating to whipping Cristian Martinez, a convert to Islam, in July 2011. Magistrate Brian Maloney told Burwood Local Court on Thursday it was an extremely unusual case. Mr Fayad counted out the lashes and when he came up to number 10 ... he gave Mr Martinez a break. Mr Martinez went into the bathroom and vomited. "Until now, assaults occasioned in the course of a religious practice involving the mortification of the flesh have not been before any court in any common law country." Advertisement Mr Maloney said that, from the outset, prosecutors were clear the case was not about sharia, or about the Islamic faith. The court heard Mr Martinez drank alcohol and took drugs on July 15 and 16, 2011, before he called Fayad, who had been his spiritual leader, and said he wanted help to get off drugs and make a fresh start. Fayad said: "Yeah, it means I'm going to tie you up, brother, that's what I'm going to do. "I'm going to tie you up, OK, and that's what you need brother, because now you need this level because you're not going anywhere." Fayad called Raad and told him to go to Mr Martinez's western Sydney townhouse to check on him, where Raad sent Fayad a message saying something like: "Allam, the sharia bring right material. It's important." Fayad, Cifci and Coskun then went to Mr Martinez's unit late on July 16 and Fayad whipped him while the others held him down on a bed. "Mr Fayad counted out the lashes and when he came up to number 10 ... he gave Mr Martinez a break," Mr Maloney said. "Mr Martinez went into the bathroom and vomited. "Mr Martinez was then forced back onto the bed and given 10 further lashes by Mr Fayad. He was given another break and went to the bathroom again." After the whipping, Mr Martinez sought advice from from Sheik Omar el Banna, the imam of the Omar Mosque in Auburn. In a statement to the court, the sheik said the men's actions were not sanctioned by the Islamic community in any way. "I said [to Mr Martinez] ... 'This is ridiculous. You can't apply this ruling, this is wrong. This isn't what should be happening'," he said. Mr Martinez said he consented to the 1st, 11th and 21st lash, but Magistrate Maloney found that his consent had been withdrawn. Raad was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, stealing and two counts of intimidation, while the others were convicted of the assault and stealing charges, related to a CCTV hard drive they took from Mr Martinez's home. The men will be sentenced at a later date. Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/40-lashes-under-islamic-law-men-guilty-of-assault-20130228-2f7nw.html#ixzz2MAe8hvqH

Big things to come this year. I am a huge Blue Jays fan and think we are going all the way this year. Keys are: * Bautista staying healthy * Morrow staying healthy * Romero rebounding from his miserable season (he had a shoulder injury) * Dickey repeating or at least, coming close to 2012 numbers * If just either Buhlere or Josh Johnson are themselves Bluejays had one of the most potent offenses last year and it's only gotten better. If we are not in the World Series I will be very surprised. New York/Boston/Tampa have no chance this year.

Quebec language zealots strike again.
Chris+ replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The owner must have some ties to the anglophone community to peeve off the inspectors. There is a restaurant in Montreal right off the Decarie, in fact you cannot miss it when driving alongside called "Pizza Tasty Food," no French translation at all. Use to live close by, apparently they serve Italian food. Wonder why they haven't been bothered yet? Anyways, this story made me laugh -
Who Should Lead A New Conservative Party
Chris+ replied to Alliance Fanatic's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not a big Conservative but I do admire Jason Kenny and would like to see him as the Prime MInister of Canada. Harper's foreign policy and crackdown on Islamism has been just wonderful.
