[Alliance Leading In New Poll]

What ticks me off the most is that here we have what may be the last chance to get a merger between the two parties, and instead of registering dissatisfaction with the Liberals (It's OK to wish them away, since the Liberal Party of canada does not have a political philosphy beyond say whaetever it takes to win, then do whatever we want to once elected), these PC fanatics go out on a destroy the Alliance kick.  Very stupid.

Here's how it appeared in that newsletter "The Daily Digest"

I would be happy if both parties would just agree not to attack each other and use their limited resouces against the federal liberals instead.

But even this seems impossble evidenced by such small-mindedness.

I would not wish for any political party to disappear. You can't just wish away political ideology.

If one were to disappear, a new party/movement would form shortly afterwards to fill the void.

Pointless poll from a lousy news service. If it weren't for the Toronto Star, this newspaper would likely be the most read by caged birds.

I found it quite interesting. I can't say that I believe in this sort of thing, but I do find speculation of future global affairs quite interesting.

Unfortunately, the individual could have gone into more detail. I feel left wanting...

Greece has just over 10,000,000 inhabitants, who on the average, make much less than the average Canadian...

...Canadian per capita GDP is almost $10,000 higher than that of Greece.

Where did you find Canada ranked sixth.

I'm just curious because I couldn't find many lists.

I did find one on the SIPRI site, which has Canada ranked eight out of nineteen on expenditures on military personnel and equipment.

Canada

Considering the size of the rest of the countries, Canada's rank does not indicate lavish spending. Greece spends almost as much as Canada does.

As for smarter spending...

Fair enough.

I don't put too much stock in polls as they will be rendered meaningless once the election campaigns begin and many Canadians once again tune back into federal politics.

However, EKOS consistently undervalues C.A. support so I don't put any stock in their numbers.
