  1. I think diversity's a beautiful thing. First of all, why not crack down violently to EVERY SINGLE CRIME and deport the criminals to Australia! That'd make Canada a better place and arguably more nationalistic (builds on solidarity against all criminals)! Why adopt Christianity? Weren't the first religions in Canada actually some form of pagan worship? Let's be radically nationalist and not nitpick the postcolonial era of Canada because hey, we're extremists right? Limit international trade would slow down our economy and will cause a multitude of things such as people finding employment elsewhere and poverty. I know that I shouldn't be angry that you're expressing your opinions, but I can be disgusted right?
  2. Everyone has a right to be heard, however, I think because of the protests here, there is a certain stigma toward acknowledging our opinions, which is a shame, we have so much to offer and no one to listen to what we have to say, we are the future of course. Of course! We're actively seeking out members for our organization in hopes of fostering diversity. That's always the danger of any organzation led by any one person, perhaps it might have to do with social biases within that organization as well as wanting to get along with their peers (which unfortunately is very relevent with us youngings). This being said, maybe we can safeguard this by having weekly debates on subjects that are pertinent in today's politics to encourage growth in a wide variety of political affairs. If anyone is willing to help our cause, don't be shy to PM! We're looking for ways to broaden our audience so any idea is welcome. You're going to help shape something that will influence a lot of students, so please keep that in mind. Thank you all for your opinions!
  3. I think it's essentially because of the lack of drive and passion that kids are becoming complacent. They think that the world owes them a living and once they graduate university, jobs will be offered to them. It's this fantastical world of easiness which is the trouble for North American youth. They've never felt hunger, or what it felt like to earn enough to keep the family afloat. We talk about technological and economical barriers, but rarely do we acknowledge the existence of a social barrier. It's a bubble that's waiting to be popped and I sincerely believe that chaos will insue afterward when they decide to wake up either by not finding a job, or by the needle in the form of stiff competition from third world countries.
  4. Sorry, Off-Topic discussion, I just thought I could discuss anything that pertained to media. If this is considered as spam then I'll gladly delete my thread. I like this community a lot and I've been following discussions for a long time now, just wanted to know what they would think about this project. Edit: This is also not-for-profit, and there's a basis for the post other than sheer advertising.
  5. Of course the diversification of opinions is one of the appeals to our site. We want to voice the opinions of those who want to contribute no matter how radical or unorthodox they are. Thanks for the input Bonam, it's reassuring that other people are willing to listen to what we have to say!
  6. This is a politcal journal that brings together the big universities (Concordia, McGill, UdeM)of Montreal together into one platform. http://thepoliticalbouillon.com/ My question for all of is : How interested are you on a student point of view in politics? Do you actually value our opinions? If not, what are some demographics and segments that will be interested in what we have to offer? Any constructive critism is welcome. Thank you all!
  7. I pretty much thought Romney had this in the bag, and in fact, did most of the people who posted earlier in this thread. I think it's Romney's cold disposition in the end that killed the race for him. American's want someone they can relate to, and that unfortunately wins elections, instead of their capacity to fix economic issues despite the recession.
  8. I agree, not only is it socially responsible (reduce co2 emissions to prevent or slow global warming) but according to the economic implication of finite resources, it is the only think we can do, unless we all want to die that is.
