  1. I'm not attempting to suggest that Rick Mercer is too "Pro-Conservative", or that he should be taken seriously. Considering his program is on the air, the number of viewers must be significant, no matter their opinion or political stance, and therefore Mercer is being heard by what is most likely a large audience. My interest is based more in the potential for subconcious/subtle influence as a result of repeated media exposure to a particular strain of political humour... not which side of the fence any one individual sits on.
  2. Could shows such as the Rick Mercer Report have had an influence on the outcome of the elections? In the weeks leading up to the election, many skits pointed out the bumbling antics of the Paul Martin campaign, and while staying critical of Steven Harper, Mercer still hammered home some sharp observations about the seemingly inept approaches of the Liberal party. I would be curious to find out just to what extent various medias, satires, and comedic approaches influence the average canadian voter... any thoughts? http://www.thiefofafraid.ca/h4rp0r/
