  1. I was talking against balkanization, the fact is that balkanization can become a major problem. For example if people find they have nothing in common with third or more generation Canadian's, than they may shut themselves completely off from other Canadian's. It is a problem, do you ever see mass droves of whites trying to elect only white candidates because they are simply white. It's becoming a problem, especially when politicians feel the need to pander to certain ethnic groups instead of individuals.

Unless you fully support balkanization, and people voting for a person simply because of their ethnic background.

  2. maybe we should revise history regarding the activities of hitler or stalin or pinochet! heck, they weren't all that bad... were they?
    '

No offense, but Reagan was'nt the same as Hitler, Stalin, or Pinochet. I think that you have been reading too many left wing conspiracy theories. Plus he did have great accomplishments be beating back the evils of communism. After all communism is as bad as facism.

Winston Chruchill was also considered a war monger, the problem is that if Jack Layton was leading this country in the 30's, and 40's Canada would'nt have been involved in the war. Imagine Svend Robinson going to Germany to talk about the great social programs and the evils of Britian's imperialism.

  3. Actually the problem is that some ethnic groups are thinking in terms of a mob. What the mob does, the individual does. I think that everybody should be an individual, and a large problem with the nomination battle was the only real reason that candidate won it, was due to the large numbers of members who were of a certain ethnic group to support him. Everybody should also remember that if white males believe that they will soon be aliens in their own land than racism will sky rocket, which is why the immigration rate should be lowered.

  4. I personally think that the immigration rate is too high, it should be set at 100,000 people. But at the same time you do have a point about ethnic groups voting in blocks, Chuck Cadman lost his seat in BC due to the fact that the person opposing him was Sikh I believe, and all the sikh candidate had to do was get thousands of people of the same ethnic group. The left can yell racism all they want, but the fact is that currently balkanization is occuring in Canada, due to leftist policies.

I think that the problem is with 100% multiculturalism, immigrants should assimilate into Canada adopt our law code, and our democracy.

  5. (Not all Christians are total intolerant bigots. The United Church is wonderful!)

Just because you don't agree with the lifestyle does not make you a bigot. I disagree with people that smoke alot, but I would'nt be considered a bigot. So under your logic since I disagree with smoking I am a bigot.

Why should towns be forced to have gay pride parades, thats the question, not everybody wants naked men and women to be going down mainstreet on a sunny day. I've seen some of the events at Toronto's gay pride parade which was leatherclad men, fat naked lesbians, and people who enjoy sado-masichism. Why should we force communities to have those types of parades. It does not make any sense.

Would you like me to go into detail why I believe that homosexuality is wrong, and tell you of all of the different sex acts homosexuals have engaged in statistically.

If you are a libertarian, why are you so adamant that everybody be forced to think a certain way. Is'nt libertarianism about live and let live.

  6. But the problem with a hate law is, what if the courts abuse it. For example if a christian university or charity does not feel that a homosexual can continue to work at that organization due to the fact that he is gay, could the charity, or organization be charged with a hate crime. Many towns, and cities, have also been forced to have gay pride parades due to decisions by human rights tribunals forced them too. How does that make sense.

The fact is that if a white, christian, were to be killed by homosexuals simply because he was a christian than that would not be considered a hate crime, and the media would ignore it.

for example in Edmonton a group of natives beat up on some white kids just because they were white. However the youths got sympathy from the media, and the police did'nt charge them with a hate crime. Was'nt this crime motivated by hate. Answer that question takeanumber and black dog.

  7. Takeanumber your a politically correct nazi. After all it has been said when facism comes to north american it will come in the name of anti-facism. As to the CRRF, that organization has also painted police constables who risk their lives as a bunch of racists who have fun killing blacks.

My understanding is that if you attack a christian simply because they are christian, it is not a hate crime. Why not. If a homosexual writes a letter talking about the evils of christianity, why is'nt that a hate crime.

  8. Takeanumber, you call pretty well anybody thats against bill C-250, gay marriage, abortion, a big nazi lover that wants to bash in jews. In your latest rant you said that anybody that disagrees with gay marriage hates homosexuals, even though that may not be true.

Thats why the quality of the forum has gone down, because we have somebody screaming facist whenever somebody disagrees with you. I'm also getting a bit sick of some members posting five seperate topics in one day.

I also get sick of alot of the people talking about how they as individual represent all Canadian's because they are on the political left. On this forum their used to be a debate about the issues, not a mob of people claiming to represent every single Canadian. It seems to me that the left strongly believes that they are the only true Canadians. I am getting sick of it.

  9. I think that since I was first a member of this forum, this forum was a great place to have a debate. Their were alot of members from both sides of the political spectrum. Their were members such as Pellaken, Gugsy, Moderate Centrist, Neal, Siriff, Sir Springer, and many others who participated in good debates, and showed respect for each others opinion's. However it seems that it has all gone down hill, when Takeanumber, Maplesyrup, Black Dog, and a bunch of other leftists, hijack this forum. For example pretty well every post is all the same, and most of the leftists make bigoted statements, without backing them up. Somethings gotta change.

I'm getting sick of Takeanumber calling anybody opposed to gay marriage nazis, and I'm getting sick of some of those on the left calling anybody that disagrees with them bigot. For now I think that anybody right of center on this forum should leave. I'm getting sick of this, and it's only getting worse.

  10. So Jack Layton is a Nazi now.

No, I said would be a stupid remark to say, because its not true. Unlike you left wingers I am not comfortable with spreading lies.

You know, Harper's position on C-250 is extremely similar to the position taken by the Nazi's in 1932.

Ensuring that religous freedom is protected under hate laws, and gays get equal access to federal jobs. Wow I never knew Hitler believed in that provide a link please.

The RCMP should take over national security and customs, its common sense. Why not make one large Canadian department of Public Safety. That would be alot more efficient, and would get rid of a bit of bureaucracy.

PS- If you think that RCMP members and CSIS members are "secret Police" than you should have more respect for the men and women who put their lives on the line to make sure your safe from criminals.

  11. Why are'nt these questions being asked of liberal candidates. If you want answers on were a candidate stands on an issue go down to the campaign office and talk to him or her.

PUT HARPER DOWN AS NOT SUPPORTING WOMEN'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE

I.E. HARPER IS AGAINST ABORTION RIGHTS FOR WOMEN

Thats a lie, Harper in the past has been more pro-choice. He has also said that he is in the centre of the two extremes which means he is a moderate. You are obviously on the extreme angle.

  12. I think Stephen Harper has been very consistent on social issues. He always says that their will be a free vote, now MS I know you wanna live in a left wing dictatorship but its not gonna happen unless Paul Martin or Jack Layton are elected.

I wonder why people heckled reporters at the conservative rally, because they ask the same question over and over again, and the answer is always the same.

  13. http://www.canada.com/national/features/de...73-0e995f39bb5d

Alright, I'm guessing that currently about 50% of Canadian's want to keep the traditional definition of marriage, 55% are supportive of capital punishment, and about 40% some what pro-life.

Does anybody else think that Paul Martin is making a huge error of making gay marriage, abortion, and capital punishment a huge issue. Under Jean Chretien, the answer was the same, their will be a free vote. Chretien was elected to three straight majority governments.

Harper will probably win, Paul Martin has cut off any prospects of wooing right of centre liberal's back to the fold, and is only appealing to radical abortionists, and gay rights activists which make up about 20% of the population at best.

  14. All Harper has to do in the debate is ask one question of the prime minister.

Mr Martin as prime minister would you or would you not allow votes such as abortion, gay rights, and capital punishment, be a free vote in the house of commons?

That way Paul Martin will look like an idiot or a dictator.

I think more people are getting used to Stephen Harper becoming prime minister, new ads put out by the conservative's show Harper as a family man, and acting in a prime ministerial way. Martin has scared off liberal social conservatives, about 40% of Canadian's are right of centre, he has effectively scared them away from his party.

  15. Harper believes in free votes on all of those issues, and the last time I remember Harper was pro-choice on abortion. MS try getting some actual debate in, instead of just posting a bunch of nonsense left wing dribble. Jordan, if Canadian's want to take care of the poor, then they can with the tax breaks they recieve from the government.

I don't think the world really has that high of an opinion of Canada, Canada is not really a player when all things are considered. Thats due to the fact that we cannot look after our military, have a lack immigration system, not to mention our criminal first justice system.

  16. Is'nt the notwithstanding clause constitutional.

I think that the reason it was put in the charter was to ensure that parliment elected by the people for the people would make the laws over their lives and society. I find it hard to believe that any left winger can criticize the right so much for wanting democracy, however if right wing judges made conservative laws, than they would be complaining. Very hypocritical.

  17. How much say a man has depends on the individual relationships. However, it's the woman's body and, ultimately, her choice.

But then again it is the man's child. He helped bring the child about, and the child also has his blood. So why does'nt the man get a say in abortion. I don't think that restricting abortion will mean women will have less rights, I think that it will more likely mean that women who get pregnant will have to take responsibility for the child, or give it up for adoption.

  18. I think that left wingers are hypocritical, if a conservative had said that, then he would have been strung up and all of the left wingers on this forum would have been screaming racism. But since a New Democrat did it, that is called constructive criticism.

So BD if people were coming into your backyard, harassing your children, and beating you up you would'nt fight back. I think that Israel has a right to self defense.

  19. We do not need hate laws protecting any special interest groups. Any and all groups or individuals deserve the same protection regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or whatever. Special laws for one group only in unnecessary and more likely to build resentment or mistrust as any criticism of such protected special groups is pounced on and called racist. Members of these groups are not above criticism. To silence any such criticism with hate laws is a loss of freedom of speech and the right to question actions.

Becareful what you say, Gallant was called a bigot for going against C-250. As is any politician.
