  1. If we were to let the likes of David Suzuki "run" our country with their green initiatives in the past, there would literally be no industrialization. As a result There would be no means to even create universities to educate him on nature or the environment. We would be in the dark ages...... While most energy companies are making strong initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint, this never seems to be enough. These people provide no solution to the huge demand of oil consumption that is the USA, apart from complaining like a middle-aged divorced woman. The fact is until USA stops using oil or we "find" an alternative source there will be a thirst for oil that Mr. Suzuki and his childrens children can not stop, plain and simple. The environmental people need to open their eyes to reality.... they cant stop anything... regardless of which celebrity they have on their team, Big Oil has deep pockets.
  2. The whole "Occupy" idea is a complete waste of time by the people doing it, aswell as a strain to public services " police" for the extra overtime that needs to be paid in order to monitor the area. If they actually know what their cause is, why not lobby with a better method and actually make a difference. These people are pathetic and need to wake up and do things in a proper manner. Write to your legislative member, start a lobbyist group. What you are doing is not only making yourself look bad, but your city as you put a black eye on otherwise nice park areas.
  3. No The rich should pay less. Why penalize a group that is successful and otherwise contribute to the economy in other means such as consumer spending, creating jobs for other people, the list goes on. People that are a drain on the social system should pay more...., as they utilize these services more frequently.
  4. I believe the sale of Petro Canada to Suncor was a bad move by the federal govt. It gave up any sort of leverage Harper would have had to the US and Obama Administration. So I would say that Obama would not give Harper any special treatment what so ever. While Canada sleeps on the sidelines and basically has no say in the keystone pipeline, Alberta has a newly appointed premier who has no idea what is going on. The fact that the keytone pipeline is delayed is good news. As an Albertan and Canadian, why would we ship our bitumen down south??? why not sanction additional upgraders by the EUB and retain more of the investing and projects within Alberta. We have the secure energy source. We are not obligated to ship any oil through these means. We already have a demand from Asia. We should be looking at ways that we can continue to refine the raw bitumen locally, instead of placing it into a pipeline to Texas. The Federal gov't needs to create another Petro-Canada for this reason, this is for the future generations of Albertans and fellow Canadians, its time for the "leaders' in the provincial and federal assembly to look at the big picture, and not be a puppet for American oil conglomerates. It is our resource and we should dictate how things operate, look at Venezuela- at least I admire Chavez stance in making sure that the resource is not exploited by American business. As a Canadian, I strongly encourage you to write to your member of pariliament to voice these concerns.. Thank you
