Does anyone have a theory on why Israel/theUS would attack Iran if doing so would only delay the inevitable? It doesn't make sense to me. Your just creating worse relations with Iran in order to kick the can down the road.

I don't know if Rolling Stone magazine is a good indicator of anything outside the mainstream music industry. You pose a good question though. And I'm not sure what the answer is. Individualism (by product of Capitalism) maybe. Less importance of religion in our culture (capitalism again), which historically suppressed our sexual nature. Anybody else have an idea?

Thanks for the links The only issue I have with this is the assumption that we will not run a budget surplus and in-turn not need to borrow to pay existing debts.

Cybercoma brings up some good point. On both sides of the fence there is gender inequality as well as racial inequality, ageism etc. To be honest I don't know if anything can be done over the short term, however. Just let it get dealt with through the courts and go on and live your life.

This story is as old as history itself. An invading country takes control through force or by diplomacy. The main exception is that now the ruling majority have the empathy and morals to deal with the issue through legal means. The results of an invading country has usually resulted in the minority getting absorbed by the majority and you are left with a racial melting pot. Yes the aboriginal demographic is growing but so is Canada's population and if you follow the demographics you will see that these land claims will be dealt with by a prime minister with Chinese dissent who had nothing to do with British colonialism. The end game will be the aboriginal population being absorbed by the Canadian majority, whether it's now or in 200 years. My guess is that the Canadian governments plan is to wait it out.

Possible, but not probable. Conservative domination in Alberta was/is a reflection of a very strong economy which is a recipe for the status quo. The conservatives initially taking office in the 70's from a social party was a reflection on the oil boom which obviously propelled the economy. (I'm not to familiar with Ontario) There is way to much uncertainty now (globally) to assume the conservatives will be able to ride a wave of affluency. IMO, there is a much stronger chance of a NDP government winning an election over the next 40 years then the conservatives remaining in power for that long. Again, possible, but not probable.
