Russian plane crash over Egypt
Derek 2.0 replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in The Rest of the World
No, its not clear to you......that the line that supplies the APU is supplied by the two , left inner wing tank pumps, and will be under continual pressure......you need not take my word, as I've supplied both written and illustrated material, from Airbus, to confirm this.........I won't hold my breath in you being able to not only refute me, but Airbus, the maker of the aircraft. Go borrow Mom and Dads garden hose and nozzle, figure out how it works, then get back to me -
Not that it would surprise me, a quid-pro you pull your forces out of Iraq after I announced additional forces going to the Middle East-quo do you have a source? Funny enough TransCanada also nixed a major hub in it's Energy East program the day before.........Will Trudeau favor Northern Gateway now? Just wait until Trudeau pulls out of the JSF program.........I'd have thought it would take a GOP President to dole out a spanking by nixing any technology transfers for foreign aircraft.....looks like Obama is bent out of shape over Trudeau......Can't wait to see how Trudeau is going to fix our relationship damaged by Harper

So it seems........call me a heretic.......a concept easily demonstrated with an outside tap, garden hose, pair of pliers and cheapo pressure gauge from Home Depot -

No, I heard they released a statement praising Allah for bringing down the airliner, didn't know there was a video. I'll Google it, thanks. -

I haven't heard that one, do you have a source for that? That could be a game changer for sure.... -

Its a law of averages type thing.........you're bound to get a rotten apple or two in any bunch. -

Ahh no, the reason there is a pump is to maintain flow, no pump, no flow from the outer tanks.......when said pump is off, the static pressure remains the same. If it drops, there is a leak somewhere in the system. Seriously, this is grade school level science, if fluid mechanics worked as you suggest, nobody could siphon fuel from a gas tank with a hose, coffee makers wouldn't work, nor would drinking straws............or, in an emergency (as described in the Airbus material I cited) the center fuel tank wouldn't feed the engines, absent pumps, from the natural siphon created by the flow of a liquid through the fuel system... And no, yet again, you are taking out of your ass..........the mechanical drawings of an Airbus A320 fuel system: As is clearly shown, the fuel line to the APU is always pressurized to the same degree as the rest of the fuel system, and (as mentioned in the prior source) has an emergency pump at the APU to ensure there will be flow to the APU if there is no tank pump pressure.... -

Well first, if static pressure drops off in the fuel system, in any fuel injected internal combustion engine, there is a leak somewhere in the fuel system..... Second, the APU on the Airbus A320, draws fuel from the left/port fuel manifold, using the tank pump pressure to feed it in normal use, well having it's own specific pump for in-flight emergencies..........so you are wrong on both counts. -------- Your obvious errors aside, I'll await the official investigation results. -

Then why would you suggest a ~75% drop in atmospheric pressure as modest? And no, the pressure wouldn't drop, fore if it did, outside the creation of a vapor lock in the lines and bubbles in the fuel system, the outside atmospheric pressure would pinch and distort a non-pressurized line considerably, every time the aircraft was flown until it failed. -

Here's one source that states the aircraft had a previous tail strike......bets on how long until the airline executives, on down, are counting trees in Siberia? -

It could have.......I know most modern airports have barometric triggering systems that passenger luggage goes through prior to entering the aircraft, but that's not to say ISIS didn't have a plant in the airport staff with a workaround. -

Well yeah it would, at sea level atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi, at ~31000' it drops to ~3.8 psi, a decrease of ~75% (hardly "modest"). And the line would be pressurized, just static (if a valve was closed in the system), if no longer being pumped. So yeah, drastic increase and decreases in pressure do effect fuel lines.... The question remains, where does the aft pressure bulkhead start in the tail section of the A320 and did it remain with the fuselage or the tail section after the crash? -

As a disciple of Rand, I highly doubt it. -

Continue along the previous Government's policy would be a safe bet. -
Agreed, if there is an issue they could perhaps split the topic?
-
Sure, they are both in relation to the "root causes" of the conflict, invoking justification or disqualification of Trudeau's intend policy moves on this file.

IIRC, one of the widows of the flightcrew suggested the airline was negligent in performing routine maintenance and that the Russian transportation authority is combing through their maintenance logs. -
Yet Assad wasn't chased into a hole and now controls less than 30% of his country..........Saddam, sans Western intervention, wouldn't have shared the same fate because?
-
Feel free to use the ignore feature then....with that, the OP spoke to policy that will be implemented early under the new Government, of which, the Trudeau Liberals promised to end, right away, our current combat mission against radical Islam in the Middle East. The only one to have derailed this wide ranging topic has been you. If you don't wish to partake in this conversation, then don't......simple concept.
-
My thoughts exactly.
-
Well yeah, we are. Do you have anything to add or are you going to continue to derail the topic?
-
So you're suggesting the Iraqi Government and the Kurdish people want to wage a Holy War against the West? If so, why is Trudeau in such a rush to bring 25k of them over here?
-
How so?
-
We are discussing Trudeau's policy to halt the war against ISIS.
-
Bullshit, ISIL was driving on Baghdad months after the initial Western Forces arrived, and only halted once the entirety of the current forces there were engaged.
