Forum Admin Greg Posted April 24, 2007 Forum Admin Report Posted April 24, 2007 To avoid inflaming the situation, please do not report that you've reported someone in a thread. There is nothing wrong with asking another member to tone down the rhetoric, or asking someone to be civil. However, posting "Reported" in the thread does nothing but encourage off-topic flame wars between the reporter and the poster who is being reported. Also, if you disagree personally with someone and you want to tell that person, please do everyone a favour and send a PM to that person. Filling otherwise interesting threads with off-topic banter about how you don't like their tone/attitude/post/etc is distracting and annoying. Quote Have any issues, problems using the forum? But, I'll just note here that if the simple statement 'reported' is touching off flame wars, it seems that such flamers must be violating the forum rules in their reaction to the fact of the report. It's likely an imperfect solution to indulge their viciousness by silencing those who stand up for the rules. Quote
