M.Dancer Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 AG: Are you ever going to run?RM: No. I love politics and I actually believe that the vast majority of people who are in politics are in it for the right reasons, even the ones who I vehemently disagree with or I might think aren't very good at what they do. I still think most of their motivations are fairly sincere. But it's also a really hard life. Certainly a harder life than my own. And the people who are good at it work very, very long hours and get very little credit. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...ertainment/home I love Rick Mercer. Higgly Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 I'm not a big fan of his. Certainly he gets credit for being sympathetic to politicians in this one interview but he makes his living making fools of them, so I'm thinking this looks pretty hypocritical. One thing that turned me against him very early on was his "talking to Americans" bit. I'm sure there are many topics one could bring up with Mr. Mercer that would leave him looking dumb in front of a knowledgable audience. Mercer is a ridicule comedian. This is the easy stuff. The comedians who can make us laugh about the human condition are a lot funnier to me and I think this is harder to do. Say a show like "Corner Gas", as opposed to Mercer's show. kengs333 Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 Mercer is a moron. Ever since he made that anti-monarchist rant, I just can't stand him. If he, or anybody else in Canada, is so keen on being more like the Americans, by all means MOVE THERE. Quote
