mikedavid00 Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 To win a nomination. That is the toughest part about becoming a Conservative MP in Alberta. Get involved with the party and stay involved. I know how he can win a nomination... He just needs a couple hundred friends. Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. This was really a brownshirt style censorship from a moderator on mapleleafweb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oGB-BKdZg---
Visionseeker Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Errr... Umm.. Ok.. so you want more green action and less taxes? You do realize that Canada puts out less than 2% of the world... ah nevermind. Ah yes, that 2% argument. And what, pray-tell, is our proportion of the global population? Oh, yeah, right, less than 0.5%. So we are responsible for 300% more emissions than the global average. If we were China, the planet would be dead. Regardless, you presume my citing the environment is indicative of a pre-occupation with global warming. I can assure you that my concerns are more far reaching than that. As for taxes, yes, reductions are in order on one hand (corporate and income) and increases on the other (carbon taxes and GST). Tax us when we spend our money, not when we earn it. Quote
shavluk Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 I know how he can win a nomination... He just needs a couple hundred friends. Which brings us back to ,,, hahahhaha I would say that you need to be "less" of the equation for starters. If this was about me you would never have heard from me or about me,,, Your personality at this point quite frankly in my opinion would just quit after the first 15 times you lost an election. Happens to the best of us. Myself i see billions in things like titanium dioxide paint and electric this and hydrogen that. Decentralized power in every home. Carbon tax for the polluters but not as a way of continuing to not address their own pollution , only to finance clean industry, eventually resulting in a flat income tax system with the poverty level removing the lowest earners from deduction tax If we don't lead the world in this move ,,who will? Its the right thing to do The more i get involved , the more i want to be involved and the more I'm ashamed of the politicians who came before myself and some others with what i have learned has been done to us and more importantly ,,what hasn't been done for us. Sellouts. If you knew something was wrong and you wanted to fix it or if you had something to contribute besides what you put across here i would say yes go for it. If its because you want some perceived power or this or that i think you will be wasting everyone's time. Quote
