kengs333 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 Oh great! Another McGuinty majority gives him the green light for more tax increases. What else are the Liberals to think? That we disagreed with the health tax? Nooooo...it's OK by us, Dalton and we reward you for it. With McGuinty's constant whining that he had no choice in imposing the health care tax I bet that down the road he will increase it. Then again, he might use the back door and increase personal income tax instead. Any way he does it, he'll do it. He probably wouldn't get a majority if we already had an MMP system in place. Quote

Hey ... what do you think of getting rid of all corporate and personal income taxes, and instead having consumption taxes? I read it is being touted internationally as a way of rebalancing, economically and environmentally. Quote If you are claiming a religious exemption from the hate law, please say so up front. Jennie, I am not an economist or an accountant. I also don't have the time or inclination to research and compare alternative tax measures from around the globe. Here's an idea. Why don't we all assign our income to the Government? In turn, the Government can issue each one of us an allowance on which to subsist, you know, for basic consumption. An equal allowance I would add. This way we would all be equal and no one would have reason to complain. That would be fair. This would re-balance the economy and the Government could go hog wild on saving the environment with the resulting huge surpluses. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Rue Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Since the comment was made at a Hebrew school where half of their curriculum is religion, I assume the comment was regarding teaching tolerance. It doesn't appear like he was suggesting adding Creationism to the Ontario curriculum. That would be suicide. Tory's actual comment was taken out of context. He has never advocated creationism. Quote

Any business is required to deduct taxes, EI premiums and Canada Pension BEFORE you receive your money. Essentially the employer is paying the government and the government tells them (by way of income tax brackets) how much to release to you. Quote

So much for my attempt at satire. But being a Capricorn, I can't promise I won't try again. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
