Craig Read Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 "Chirac warmly congratulates Chretien on France-Canada relations" Chretien blames 9-11 on the US calling the Americans "self satisfied and greedy." Various Canadian politicians engage in adolescent name calling of Bush and the US. Canada does little in the war on terror - 1900 troops in Kabul handing out parking tickets and feeding goats, and a whopping $250 million US for Iraqi reconstruction out of the total of $100 billion that is needed. Wow. Canada supports the UN's continued harassment and anti-Jewish posturing and refuses to aid Israel in defending itself allowing its 20 something airheads at various Universities and its elitist snot nosed press to publish and demonstrate against a democratic nation state that has turned a desert into a hive of economic and social activity. Canada does little to reform its porous immigration and security systems threatening its neighbour. There are many Good things about Canada - but foreign policy is not one of them. Chretien has destroyed the most vital relationship we have. He is a disgrace. His mealy mouthed anti-war position has now brought Canada its justified return. >>No monies for Cdn firms in Iraqi reconstruction. The Aussies, Brits, Poles, Ukrainians [for god's sake the Ukraine !?!?!?!?!?] and Spain are the preferred allies of choice. Canada chose France - and chose poorly. Quote
SirRiff Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Canada does little in the war on terror - 1900 troops in Kabul handing out parking tickets and feeding goats, and a whopping $250 million US for Iraqi reconstruction out of the total of $100 billion that is needed. Wow. very ignorant statement. in fact canadians have already died in afganistan, a war fought because the US was attacked not, canada. they fought hard during the war, and are stuck in a very very dangerous situation. as has been published, the taliban are regrouping and there are not enough troops in afganistan to take them on properly. if you scorn the efforts of canadian troops, maybe you should sign up and show us all how its done. this contract limiting is the absolute sign of war for profit. any nation can now invade and then plunder the resources of a country under the guise of "liberation". i would love to see this principle work if north korea went into south korea then gave "reconstuction" contracts to China. this is the last bit of proof we need to seet his war was for profit and power. a true moral war of liberation does not require haliburton to make billions i contracts, and bribe the nations that go in. war for profit. truly americans need to stop this slide into tyranny else they will be treated like the nation they are by the rest of the world. war for profit Quote SirRiff, A Canadian Patriot "The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out the conservative adopts them." - Mark Twain
Craig Read Posted December 10, 2003 Author Report Posted December 10, 2003 And now the little minds of the EU are busy whining and discussing 'extra legal' processes. Apparently the EU whiners want the WTO to step in and tell the Americans that the EU deserves contracts under international law - as compensation for their 10 years of milking Iraq of money as 300.000 people were murdered, and of course as compensation for their 'moral' objections to the war - ie. 'we make money now dealing with Hussein and please don't change that' argument. The fact that the EU can even suggest that Iraqi reconstruction has international legal applicability tells me that these people are so far removed from reality that any lie - no matter how large - is acceptable. Good grief. The EU and Canada - weak, immoral, with no values - are now seeking recourse in the UNO. That tells you the depth of depravity of their leadership. A spokesman for the German government described the Pentagon decision as unacceptable, while France said it would examine its legality. “We are studying the compatibility of these decisions with international competition law together with our partners that are involved, notably in the European Union and the European Commission,” said Herve Ladsous, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry. Wednesday afternoon, Arancha Gonzalez, the trade spokeswoman at the European Commission, said the EU had asked the United States to provide more information “so we can see whether or not their commitments with regard to the WTO have been respected.” Quote
kokanee Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 [in fact canadians have already died in afganistan, a war fought because the US was attacked not, canada.] (sic) This ignores the 25 Canadians who were killed at the WTC. Aside from that, our deprived, neglected forces did us proud in Afghanistan, but our government dishonoured us on the issue of Iraq. Of course, the PM's incoherent waffling on the file up until his decision to pass could not have been influenced by his daughter's husband's fortune being tied to Power Corporation's heavy investment in Total Fina Elf, the French fagship oil company that was much in Saddam's favour. Would it? The threat to withdraw makes Canada's contribution to the reconstruction effort look like the bribe it probably is, something else at which our governing Liberals are accomplished It seems the chickens are home. Craig Read Posted December 11, 2003 Author Report Posted December 11, 2003 Kok,good to have you on board - a BCer i take it ? Canadian military personnel are top notch apparently and well trained. The monkeys running our country are not top notch nor well trained - unless you believe that overbilling clients as a lawyer and crying 'this case is much more difficult than our original quote suggested' is good training to be an effective leader. Legal training is effective training to be a mealy mouthed say-nothing-vital or clearly politician, an admirer of media spin, a disburser of other people's money, and a claimant for higher taxes ['these social programs are so vital and more expensive than originally quoted']. Canada's political elite are not trained in; -Economics -Political theory [Graham is a current exception] -Business and 'making things happen' -Private sector capital accumulation outside of law -Military -Foreign experiences They are: -Academics -Lawyers -Swivelling/Snivelling Servants Such a population admires: -Centralised control -Left Liberal rhetoric -Using the efforts of others to build programs and ideas -Rewriting history -Media spin to enforce social cohesion I have yet to meet an Academic or Lawyer that I would trust to run a fruit stand, let alone a country. Given the miserably thin talent in Cdn politics is it any wonder that we don't sit at the big boys table internationally ? We have a reservation at the mental dwarf table, along with France and the UNO and other associated cowardly groups that deal in immoral janus faced processes and believe that at the end of the dinner someone else should pick up the bill. kokanee Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Thank you, Craig. A BCer indeed. Going farther back on the subject, our waffling PM had no qualms about sending our under-equipped forces to Kosovo without a lot of ignored UN resolutions when his soul mate Slick Willy whistled for him. So why did the UN, acting for its Old European PC masters, suddenly become his moral arbiter? For that matter, when did Canadians vote the UN into power as our foreign Affairs authority? It seems to me that if our spineless leader must abdicate our sovereignty in favour of a foreign government, we would be better off with the Americans or Brits, who at least have an understanding of the concepts of morality and the rule of law. But then, since said spineless leader himself has never demonstrated any comfort with these ideas, his choice is fitting. In a rational society, though, I believe any leader who decided to cede his governing authority to a foreign power would be tried for treason. Quote
Hugo Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 As we all know, Chretien opposed the US-led military ouster of Saddam's regime earlier this year, and his reason for that opposition was that it was not sanctioned by the UN. However, in 1991 the UN did sanction a war to liberate Kuwait. Brian Mulroney supported this war, and Chretien, then in opposition, condemned the war and Mulroney's support of it, despite the fact that his beloved UN applauded that war. Chretien is as crooked as they come. He is very deserving of the distinction of being the only Canadian Prime Minister in history to be sued for abuse of power. Quote
Craig Read Posted December 13, 2003 Author Report Posted December 13, 2003 Hugo good point. Chretien also opposed NAFTA which is the only reason our economy is still alive and our living standards not worsened. He is the worst leader imaginable, a corrupt clown who operates the gov't like a mafia don. Kok, you mentioned, our waffling PM had no qualms about sending our under-equipped forces to Kosovo without a lot of ignored UN resolutions when his soul mate Slick Willy whistled for him. So why did the UN, acting for its Old European PC masters, suddenly become his moral arbiter? Right on. So why don't i hear this on the CBC - or RDI ? Why does the CBC and the Cdn media have such short memories ? And you are right since when does the UN Security Council over-ride national security and alliance configurations ? Using the UN as a fig leaf to free ride off the US military is sickening. You can criticise aspects of US policy in Iraq, but hell, we should BE there, helping and aiding at a level concomittant with 1. Our economic size and 2. Our egotistical appraisal of our superiority. A 'superior' civilisation defends its allies, attends to its security and takes the moral lead in rebuilding failed states in the Middle East. Quote
KrustyKidd Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 this is the last bit of proof we need to seet his war was for profit and power. a true moral war of liberation does not require haliburton to make billions i contracts, and bribe the nations that go in. war for profit. truly americans need to stop this slide into tyranny else they will be treated like the nation they are by the rest of the world. Well Martin just told Bush that Canada has been a "major participant" on the 'War on Terror' by sending 2,000 toops to Afganistan. I imagine that if any mud huts need rebuilding then we will qualify for a contract there. As for Iraq, why would anybody who was opposed to the action be allowed to bid? Seems to me that a country that was, and still is against the action would undermine the effort if allowed to interfere with something they protest. I see nothing suspect or vindictive about that. Merely good sense. After all, if a neighbor hated you, your house and your family why would you consider him to hire to mow your lawn or help you shingle your roof? Now especially france and Germany. They actively worked AGAINST this whole operation. They see something they can make money off of and you figure that they are not going to still work against it? They are pushing for immediate transfer of power when any sane person knows that is an invitation for disaster. You figure that they are morally commited to Iraq's well being? Must be a turnip truck that lost a Riff that just passed by. Quote We're Paratroopers Lieutenant. We're supposed to be surrounded - CPT Richard Winters
Craig Read Posted December 17, 2003 Author Report Posted December 17, 2003 The Liberals - poor little things - since they can't think they are good at two things; 1. Slander and 2. Crying [after they lose an argument]. I have posted probably 10 x with sources that the US will lose money on Iraq. Remember the war for oil crowd ? Well guess what sweeties - price of oil has gone up not down as supplies have shrunk. It will take until mid 2004 to reach pre war levels of 2bn+ per day consistently [without pipelines getting blown up]. At that rate the US will never see its money back. The $87 billion up for contracts and especially the $18 billion just pledged is - AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS. Hello. The US citizens are paying the reconstruction costs and yes, guess what ? I would EXPECT that mostly US and allied firms get the contracts. In any event subcontracts are open to tender to any nationality so what are you whining about Libs ? Do you think the Glorious French, Trustworthy Germans, Stolid Russians or the honest Chinese would have been as forthcoming about opening ANY contracts to those who opposed THEIR war ? Yeah right. Now look at the post modern Canadians. Canada ties its $2.5 Bn CIDA Foreign AID budget to the purchase of Cdn goods - fully 80 % of CDN foreign aid is not allocated on need or a vision but on crass economics. Nothing more tiresome than a sanctimonious Canadian hypocrite. Quote
KrustyKidd Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 LOL, the wheat growers of Western Canada love the government forcing them to sell at half price only to give their sweat away as foreign aid. BTW, not one oil consignment has been sold to the US. So much for the leftist Oil argument. Where are those idiots now? What crap are they spreading today that is another emotional lie? Quote We're Paratroopers Lieutenant. We're supposed to be surrounded - CPT Richard Winters
Craig Read Posted December 17, 2003 Author Report Posted December 17, 2003 The left liberals operate outside of reality. The French and Germans use the UNO to tie down the US - though not one EU intiative is based on anything other than crass self interest. Now witness the imploding Howard Dean and the cowardly Chirac - both backpeddaling now that Hussein will be tried and executed - I hope very very slowly. The Dumbocrud party will implode over Iraq - only Lieberman and Gephardt supported the war - and the EU is divided on foreign policy with adult nations such as the UK, Spain and Poland knowing right from wrong and deeply suspicious of postmodern France and Germany uniting Europe under their socialist control. Not one argument the post modern idiots or the liberal clowns made before or during or after the war has come true. NOT ONE. Why then do people watch, believe and act on these assinine commentators every word ? Maybe they should watch the Iraqi community celebrate in Montreal - it is after all home to the largest Iraqi community in N.America. Maybe that should tell the post moderns something - that the war on terror is just, noble and needed. Quote
