If you don't mind me asking is there a reason it is in French?

anywayz...what i get from the article is that

not enough is being done on two of the biggest economic themes, which are productivity, and civil restructuring.

but in quebec the unions and average people have put pressure on charset, to gurantee investments in Education, and in Ontario we have howdy doody.

Then it says that this alone is evidence for the major resturctioring that happend after NAFTA, and is the reason

for the decline of Canada's quality of life. As wella s comenting on the fact that Caanda's productivity per person has not grown as fast as it has in Australia or America.

Then it says that restructuring is needed to increase Canada's productivity, but are we able to find someone to do that in Canada?

Craig maybe next time you post in french you could also provide a translation, becuase I took French in Grade 11 and never wanted to use it again...perhaps you could explain what the article meant cause i am sorta struggling to understand it, help me out man :)

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand

Good man to read it :) I meant to post it on another site, but since Canada is officially bilingual ..... people should practice leur francais. You are right about the posting - i was reading the Quebecois news reports on the pressures being put on Charest to 'guarantee' education and health funding. I was watching RDI where the host [10 pm] who has some brains was arguing with a socialist that given Quebec's lower output per person, and lower productivity that Charest HAD to enact far changing reforms and that the Quebec model had failed.

Two interesting points from the RDI program:

1. Quebec per capita GDP is at C$ 30.400 or so, vs. $37.000+ in Ontario.

2. Quebec's standard of living is 15 %+ lower than Ontario's which is 25 % + lower than the US'.

With only 2 have provinces what does this tell us about the 'Canadian Model' ??

Even in Quebec as expectations rise and returns diminish there is now debate - instigated by Charest god bless him - on fundamental reforms.

Where else in Canada is there a leader who recognises that change is necessary ?

Even the IMF [i am no fan of that club] stated in a release yesterday that Canada must reform its health system and allow private care [like in every other country including the EU nations].

There are some interesting points in time in this article but I don't know if I see all of them center to heart. There is some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added www.mapleleafweb.com to FeedBurner as well
