Michael Bluth Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 NO, NOT ANYMORE!! BUT THERE WAS A PLAN .....IT WAS THE 100% EXEMPTION OF RESOURCE REVENUE FROM EQUALIZATION, IT WOULD OF PROVIDED NL WITH A ADDITION $10 BILLION OVER THE NEXT 13 YEARS ENOUGH TO COMPLETELY PAY OFF THE PROVINICAL DEBT!! That was the plan!Don't you understand why William's is pissed off! Williams chose to cut taxes, keep tuition rates among the lowest in the country, and provide the most generous grants system to post-secondary students INSTEAD of sticking to this "plan". Do you realize that NLs receipts for fiscal 2007-2008 are exactly the same now as they would have been prior to the last Federal budget? Why is Williams using the prospect of future cuts to equalization payments to abandon this plan now? p.s. PLEASE QUIT SHOUTING! Lower personal income will encourage spending which will help the economy. Spending on education is an investment in the future. Do you realize that NLs receipts for fiscal 2007-2008 are exactly the same now as they would have been prior to the last Federal budget? Yes, nothing changed yet. Why is Williams using the prospect of future cuts to equalization payments to abandon this plan now? He already wrote off 2+ billion of unfunded publuc pension liability debt, and will be paying down its net debt by about $66 million — and reducing its debt servicing costs by $51 million in this budget. p.s. You can't convince people who support the federal Conservative policy even if it changed from what they promised in the election. Just make sure to not vote Tory come the next election. Quote

That's great, but then don't make the argument that NL can't pay down it's net down. Williams just chose not to go in that direction. Besides if these "investments" work as you say they will then NL won't have to be supported forever. (Your words) I'm getting sick of posting on this thread anyway. Your never going to change you opinion. Provide some evidence and I will consider it. I should change my opinion because of your tantrum?
