Provincial Liberal quits party

The brother of former Liberal premier David Peterson has quit the provincial Liberal caucus to sit as an independent and then run for the Progressive Conservatives in the next provincial election.
Peterson’s defection leaves the Liberal government with 68 seats, while the Conservatives hold 24 and the New Democrats 10.

“I never expected to be in cabinet because I was not one of Dalton’s chosen to run, but I did expect to . . . at least have my voice heard.”

It's a while before the election, but are the Ontario Conservates going to increase their seats from 24?

"Any man under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart, and any man over 30 who is not a conservative has no brains."

— Winston Churchill
