There are also new strong sign that things are getting better, i think quebec is the place where private schooling system and private healthcare system is growing the fastest wich are the 2 biggest spender in the provincial budget so it will lead in less government. I think in 4 year, quebec healthcare system will change drastically.

I don't see any evidence that there is a program to reduce costs drastically in either. Do you have a source for this claim? I see some private clinics but is that reducing the costs or eliminating wait times?

What is a "natality"?

Quebec has the highest taxes and the largest debt of any Province in Canada. And of course, Quebec receives the largest amount of Federal tax subsidies from the 'rest of Canada'. Funny how that all goes together.

Hmm, must be birth rate, i translated from french to english too fast i guess.

Im not sure quebec is the highest taxed, not sure about the debt and the federal tax subsidies too but its not the best province for sure. However what is to be expected ? we are supposed to be the best at evrything ? This is a fact that quebec his less skilled than ontario and alberta in economy, however this does not mean that we are bad at evrything and more than often we are just average.

It does lead in less government, as for cost reduction for the consumer or eliminating wait times, it depend on your ideological believe.

I don't think it depends on your idealogical belief. It comes down to how many days you wait and how much it costs.

As for less government, I still haven't seen evidence of that.

Well it depend on the situation, someone that is rich will not wait if he's willing to pay thats a fact... however you can also say that if the private staff would work in the public system, the overall waiting time would be less. But it also depend on how much money the government is willing to spend on staff and it doesn't mean that if the staff work in the private that he can't work in the public too. This is where the ideological believe play a role, there are both side that will argue because if the answer was as clear as 1+1=2 then there would be no debate...

Same thing with the cost of the consumer, of course it cost him more if he goes in the private but does the actual cost of the operation and salary staff is superior to the public ? thats another debate but there is one thing for sure, if the private sector is a service available for the consumer. The public and private sector share the same consumer population. In the short term, this do not necessarly mean less governement if we beleive that the waiting time list mean that the public sector could not fill the demand, however i believe it would mean more effectivness for the money they spend.

But i realize i did not specify what i meant by less government, for me it mean less "bureaucracy", less things to administrate. The government do not administrate the private sector, this is the difference between the public and the private sector isnt it ? But there is one thing i can agree with you, it does not mean the government will spend less money but it strongly suggest that they will unless the idea behind it was to give a better service.

The only thing that might speed up a wait time is getting faster diagnostics. I don't think the rich can pay for a faster heart surgery in Quebec unless they leave Canada.

I see no evidence that Quebec's bureaucracy is any less than any other province. You have evidence to show there are fewer civil servants?
