And I just asked our classifed rep... we do not check the legitimacy of an obit. So feasibly one COULD put in a fake one...

That could definitely cause alot of trouble for someone. I'm wondering about the legal liability of the paper and the person submitting the obit. There is a reasonable duty of care IMO.
