Saturn Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 This poll should include "All of the above". I equally resent at least half of those policies. Quote
adam Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 The opposition IS soft on terror and IS soft on crime. What's wrong with pointing that out? The opposition is not soft on terror or crime. They promote rehabilitation along with punishment. If we are going to lock people up and throw away the key we may as well just start up the death penalty. And if we are going to hold people based on accusations, based on the anti-terror acts, we may as well throw out the whole court systems as well. Why don’t we just adopt all of Hitler’s policies. You mean like gun control? That was a 'Hitler' policy. How about gun confiscation? Oops! damnit how that works. Hitler again! Ooopsie!! Argus Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I'm hard pressed to choose just one. And you being such a centrist and all... You wouldn't expect a centrist to buy into right wing policies, would you? Some of them, yes. And Harper's government has hardly been a bastion of right wing ideology. Argus Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 You wouldn't expect a centrist to buy into right wing policies, would you? Actually none of the options you posted were a right wing policy. Besides the helmet hair I guess. Actually, 1, 8, 11, and possibly 10 are rightwing flavored. So a few of them are "right wing flavoured" or possibly so, but you, the "centrist" can't stand the government because of that? The opposition is not soft on terror or crime. They promote rehabilitation along with punishment. They don't promote punishment at all. If we are going to lock people up and throw away the key we may as well just start up the death penalty. We're not talking about locking people up forever. We are, however, talking about locking people up, an idea which makes liberals' pedicured toenails curl up inside their gucci loafers. And if we are going to hold people based on accusations, based on the anti-terror acts, we may as well throw out the whole court systems as well. Why don’t we just adopt all of Hitler’s policies. You have a talent for so wildly overstating things that it makes you sound like a kook. This is not a talent much sought-after around here.
