Ricki Bobbi Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 So Jean Lapierre is resigning his seat and going back to TV. LInk The CBC story doesn't make it clear that he is leaving Parliament, but that's his plan according to Paul Wells. This opens up the uber-safe riding of Outremont. The nomination will be fun to watch. Martin Cochon and Liza Frulla both want back into Parliament. Will Justin Trudeau be able to out organize both of them? elvis2010 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 I don't think Trudeau wants in yet, the Liberals just elected a new leader. Trudeau will probably wait for the next leadership convention to make his move. Why would anyone waste their cash running against him?! Quote
Ricki Bobbi Posted January 12, 2007 Author Report Posted January 12, 2007 If he truly does want to take a run at the leadership next time it opens up he will probably want to get into Parliament at the next opportunity. A couple terms as an MP and oppositon critic could only help boost the resume.
