IMO, the liberal party is only around because of the immigrant vote (factual). But how long do they wait for the Liberals get back in power until we see the blue turbans on?

Immigrants will only support a losing party for so long. Here in the big cities, it's getting to the point where all the liberal candidate positions have been snatched up and there are even immigrants getting involved into the green party in order to get themselves in some sort of politics. Immigrant enrolement into the CPC is going to undoubtedly rise.

I've been to several family functions these past few months, Immigrants seem to be happy with Harper due mostly to the GST and child payments. Of course, sponsorship of relatives into Canada is of #1 concern of immigrants in Canada (factual). Harper can't ever threaten this.

I do not beleive the CPC can get a majority gov't unless it gets the immigrant vote.

I think that after Dion loses the next election, I think that the immigrants will move towards the CPC party if Harper doesn't touch immigration and our destructive family sponsorship prgram. When the in-fighting starts behind the scenes, I think it will be a call to immigrants to take sides and protect their interest.

Understand, Canadians vote against parties, not for them. When Canadians are complacent, they will continue to vote with the wave of complacancy. Dion will never, ever win any kind of election against harper by promosing to tax Canadians so we can have lower green house emissions.

He litteraly wasted 4 billion of OUR dollars into 'thin air'. pun intended.

DID YOU KNOW: The liberals left the CPC with 800,000 people waiting to get into our country? +90% with no job prospects, no employability, and the majority of these people will be living below the poverty line even 5 years after they landed here in Canada. 70% of these people are family sponsored which comprise of the sick and elderly. Meanwhile last week Ontario has another net loss of full time jobs and a higher unemployment rate of 6.3.

Way to go Liberals. Way to go.

How is that "factual"? Where is your evidence?

And define "immigrant" please. Is that only colored people, or would immigrants from the UK count, for example. And how long do they need to be here before they wouldn't fit into your qualifier?

Do the reasearch. The majority of seats they got this time around were from the big cities where those ridings had +30% visible 'minorities'. You should know this as someone who follows politics. The only exception is some quebec seats and maybe Stranichs. The Lib party is an immigration party in disguise. People still have the wool over their eyes on this matter but the numbers back it up.

The public needs to realize that there is a waiting list of 800,000 people mostly from the third world (Pakistan being the third most) that are waiting to come here. This is the prime issue that is facing our nation right now but I've given up on this because people 1 - don't beleive it, 2 deny it, 3 - can't beleive this could be happening.

But it is happening.. and it's all happening to keep a stupid political party in power.

Nice job at answering pretty much none of my questions.

And I hate to be the one to tell you, but "visible minorities" are not the only immigrants in this nation.

You accuse minorities/immigrants of being ignorant, and then you attempt to appeal to them by quoting a number of waiting immigration applicants and claiming it's oh so terrible and all the fault of one political party.

I don't think it's any secret that Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are Canada's diverse cities, and the Liberals do well there. I also don't think it's any secret that Calgary and Edmonton aren't exactly what I call diverse... in a public school graduating class of 500, we had less than 20 Asians and one black kid. Liberal's don't get elected there. The only area in Edmonton where the Liberals have a chance is held by Rahim Jaffer and in Calgary it's held by Deepak Obhrai.

The Liberals are the party of minority groups, there is little doubt there.

What can the CPC do to gain their support? I don't know.

Many of these minorities, like the Muslims, are viciously anti-gay, more so than the Christians, so any social conservatism (non-existant in Canada really anymore in politics outside of Myron Thompson) would be nice to them. These giving women equal numbers of seats proposed by the Liberals likely also angers the Muslims.

Maybe the Liberals aggressively socially progressive agenda will scare many to the CPC?

Who knows.

It's the only way the Tories will win seats in Toronto or more in Vancouver. They'll be lucky to in the forseeable future to win a seat in Montreal.

Anyone not born here in Canada is an immigrant. When they have children the kids are not immigrants. So that explains who immigrants are. The only place liberal won in the last election was in cities with large immigrant pops., or places that the libs usually bribe with federal welfare. Once we get immigrants to move to Alberta and join the Conservatives, they are richer and happier. Now that we are government we can convince them that we are the right party to join, and don't believe the lies liberals tell, join Conservatives and be an equal party in prosperity, or join liberals and be poor and stupid and used only as a club to hit decent Conservatives with.
