crazymf Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Sorry, no link, but I saw on the CNN ticker today that because people in the USA are heavier, they've burned 2.2 billion dollars more fuel this year than last year. I guess that's putting a new price tag on your fat. Someone actually gets paid to figure this stuff out. Also, Bush signs a document today to build more wall between Mexico and USA. That made me ponder the Berlin wall for a few moments. That one was so wrong and this one is so right? They're both meant to do the same thing but one was in the name of communism and tyranny, and the other in the protection of freedom and individual rights. Their physical function however, is the same. Hmmm... Quote The trouble with the legal profession is that 98% of its members give the rest a bad name. Don't be humble - you're not that great. crazymf Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 Yes I realize that, but the point is that they serve exactly the same function, for different reasons. Whether it's good or bad depends on how you spin it. The whole Mexican thing amuses me. On one hand the American economy depends on cheap illegals to function but on the other hand it's not politically correct to let them in. I guess that's why they're not going to build the wall all the way across. Quote The trouble with the legal profession is that 98% of its members give the rest a bad name. M.Dancer Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Maybe they should call it Hadrian's wall, as it to was a wall designed to keep people out.... a fellow I know used to do business behind the iron curtain. He said going there (east germany, poland, Czeckoslavakia) terrified him. He had pictures that he took clandestinely from his bus of the wire entanglements and the machine gun emplacements (in east germany)....the thing was, the guns pointed towards east germany.......
