............ mildly amusing (alarming?) that the sitting U.S. president was engaged in a law suite against the IRS?

Where's the oversight?

Cut to the chase ............. Trump intends to provide a paycheck for insurrectionists ........... all who were provided a fair (and legal) trial in  which they were found guilty and sentenced.

What a banana-state situation.

I think the whole thing is a slight of hand. Trump pulls crap like this to the people will not see what he is doing under the covers, an example of this is while Trump was making these outrageous plans he is getting ready to attack Cuba which has gone largely unnoticed.

...... slight of hand?

It's out in the open.............. nothing like this end run has ever been attempted by ANY administration.

Congress controls spending - not the executive?

What Trump has done, desires, is for the Executive to do an end-run around Congress so as to provide the Executive with a financial lever, outside of Congress and totally in-the-dark re: beneficiaries, $$. The so-called, 'Board' responsible for disbursement is also pure, Treadstone'.

Tariffs are akin .................... Congress levies tariffs ......... not the Executive.

Congress has COMPLETELY and VOLUNTARILY relinquished their lever of control.

The stench of corruption is overpowering.

Trump Corp (family)  is getting rich with grift, corruption and insider trading.

To compare this level, out-in-the-open, corruption to Burisma is an exaggeration of even the MAGA mentality.

Fake news, good politics, TDS ............. all straw man arguments.

Agreed. There is a lot to unpack with this entire issue. The American Government in general has proven unequivocally that have no teeth to deal with law and order when push comes to shove. And everyone has figured that out.

.......... on the contrary.......... Congress DOES have the power.

Today, Congress is more akin to a conspiracy designed to thwart the constitution.

They only have power if they choose to use it. Todays Congress is largely MIA. And completely paralyzed. It will not change for the foreseeable future.
