As of March 2026, the Trump administration is actively pursuing mass deportations, reporting over 2.5 million removals and voluntary departures, including 527,000+ formal removals in 2025. Key efforts involve expanded ICE operations, terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for hundreds of thousands, targeting immigrants with minor family court cases, and utilizing "third country" flights.

Key Developments (2026):
  • Targeting Minor Offenses: Federal filings suggest a focus on deporting undocumented parents involved in minor family court cases (e.g., family neglect), even if they have U.S. citizen children, says ProPublica.
  • TPS Revocations: Reports show Temporary Protected Status has been terminated for hundreds of thousands of individuals from countries including Venezuela, Haiti, and Ukraine, making them eligible for removal.
  • Operation Focus: Reports state operations such as "Operation Midway Blitz" have resulted in significant detention numbers, often with high percentages of individuals lacking criminal records.
  • Local Enforcement Shift: The administration is doubling ICE agents and prioritizing operations in specific regions to carry out their, says The White House and YouTube.

  • Mass Deportation Push: DHS reported that the administration has exceeded 2.5 million removals and self-deportations since taking office.
  • Third-Country Flights: The administration is increasing the use of removal flights to countries where migrants have no existing ties, including destinations like Eswatini, notes
    The Guardian.
Legal and Social Challenges:
  • Court Battles: Legal challenges continue regarding the legality of broad removal orders, with courts occasionally blocking actions, such as the cancellation of work permits for specific TPS holders, according to YouTube.
  • Community Concerns: A March 2026 Northeastern Global News survey found that 42% of Hispanic Americans worry about the deportation of a family member or friend.

Another great thing about this is that even when this stuff isn't on my mind, I can still rest assured that asses are being deported every day. :D
