No USA benits Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I feel that the future for USA with Trump may be good to grow global alliances that will reduce the power of USA. Canada in particular may understand that other markets may be more viable. There is enough opportunity out there.Reduction in Tarriffs may be enough to deal with logistic issues for other markets. USA 's potential self sufficient policies will come with costs. For the near future USA will be collective in the Government's goals. When results are evaluated USA will lose allied markets. American markets will dwindle over time. Roderick Divorski 1 Quote
ExFlyer Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 You may be right. It will surely open discussions with other nations amongst themselves and alternatives to US domination. The unfortunate thing is the reputation of Americans is going down the toilet and it is not the people (in general), it is an individual. I am quite certain even Trumps followers were surprised and pissed off at his antics. We boo when the American anthem is played and that is disrespectful and should stop. It is not Americans we dislike, it is Trump and his handpicked henchmen. I am waiting, just like last tome, for his hand picked people to start abandoning him or he fires them. Years ago Americans travelling abroad used to wear canada pins. I had heard that the sale of canada pins is skyrocketing and much of the sales are going to the US. Tallinn also just announced it will spend 5% of GDP on defence from next year. Lithuania aims for 5-6%, it says. Poland will soon spend 4.7% of GDP on defence – it hopes to build the largest army in Europe, eclipsing the UK and France. (To put that in perspective, the US spends roughly 3.7% of GDP on defence. The UK spends 2.3% and aims to raise that to 2.6% by 2027.) Poland and the Baltic states (Latvia/Lithuania/Estonia) are also looking at withdrawing from an anti-land-mine treaty and mining their borders with Russia. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjryp19884yo Quote In a joint statement, the defence ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland said that since signing the Ottawa Treaty, threats from Moscow and its ally Belarus have "significantly increased". It is "paramount" to give their troops "flexibility and freedom of choice" to defend Nato's eastern flank, they said. Quote
