BubberMiley Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I've always gone with Environment Canada, but these days I'm not sure. I think the folks at the Weather Network might have less money and rely on their instincts more, and that's the best forecaster of all. I think the folks at the Weather Network might have less money and rely on their instincts more, and that's the best forecaster of all. I use Environment Canada's weather office website. It has neat stuff, I can check different radar and satellite stuff. Wave buoys if there was water within 1000km of my house. It's neat. I could make my own forecasts with their website if I knew anything about forecasts. The weather network makes me mad. I love how they spend 4 minutes and 50 seconds of the 5 minute forecast on the drizzle in Ontario while my house is getting pelted with hailstones and a tornado looks to be forming in the distance. margrace Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Geoffrey you sound like my son in law in BC. I live in Ontario, the weather broadcast office is in Oakville. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to have locations in different areas. Say Sask, Nova Scotia, and BC as well as Ontario. Quote

Well because the weather network is a business, they are going to cater to the biggest population centre. 60% of the population in between Southern Ontario and Southwestern Quebec. Of course that's the people they are going to report to. I don't blame them, it would probably be unprofitable to open more offices out west... so instead I just use: www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
