Argus Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 And who would be complaining about it if a Muslim or Hindu or Sikh politician said "God bless Canada?" Me. As much as I distrust the overly religious, I think that is petty. Argus Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 You can try Hill and Knowlton, though my post was not to imply that they are joined at the hip, only that Mr. Harper is more of a Republican than a parliamentarian, so adheres to Bush principles (or lack thereof). Bush is hardly an apt example of republicanism. And Harper's statement of support for our military actions in the middle east could just as easily be compared to Tony Blair or John Howard. Are you going to call Harper a Labourite or Liberal now? Josh Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 You have to love left wing rhetoric. I'd like to remind certain members, who seem to have overlooked the fact that our troops are in Afghanistan, on a mandate given to them by a Liberal government. It's funny how as soon as Stephen Harper took power, the Liberals felt it was time for a debate on the issue. I smell something... I think the Liberals are cooking waffles. Quote
Hicksey Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 What's with all the 'cut and run' rhetoric from the left? Did the left just realize that we didn't send the troops over there to a pro-western world love fest? Have the left forgotten that since we Canadians don't do wars, that we have enacted a longstanding tradition of cleaning up the messes left behind by the US as a way to curry favor with them? Kim Campbell - “In many respects, the government needs fewer rules, but rules that are consistently applied.” - Sheila Fraser, Former Auditor General.
