Hicksey
Which of these items in your view help or hurt the effort to strengthen the country and it's sense of national identity.a/ Paul Martin's side deal with Newfoundland? b/ Multiculturalsim? c/ Fiscal inbalance? d/ Appointed Senate? e/ So many positions appointed by the PM that MP's are powerless? f/ A voting system that usually results in the majority of voters being unrepresented? a/ Side deals just alienate the others all the more. Dumb idea. b/ These days with the free migration of people, most free countries are made of a group of minorities. Multiculturism is inherent. Encouraging all to be proud and not stifling the voice of any should always be the policy. c/ Martin caused it and has steadfastly refused to admit it until the recent debate. This will need to be addressed in a way fair and logical to all the differently challenged regions of Canada. Until one meets with them and really looks at the challenges of each, I think putting dollar amounts to each is irresponsible. I like the plan to leave money free and to negiotate when the challenges are identified. d/ The Senate is a joke. It should always have been elected instead of a favor appointment, or a place where irrelevant politicans go to die. e/ The only appointments for a PM should be the cabinet and the SCOC. f/ Please explain.
