Hellnback, I think you give Argus too much credit.

If he were an actual plant, he would be better equipped to debate his points and wouldn't be reduced to calling other people's arguments drivel when lacking an actual refutation.

H-m-m-m, ... well I can't argue with that!

Perhaps it was a freudian type slip as I was contemplating his seeming vegetative cerebral state.

The thread title should be altered to "to whom do facts matter.? From the posts and the apparent public reaction to the Conservative platform, they obviously do not matter to the Right Wing or its supporters.

Never have I seen such blatant disregard for facts as is shown by the Conservatives: and never have I seen a support group so cheerfully unconcerned by the lack of truthfulness - or so willing to repeat the lies.

Eureka, you are almost deranged in your fear and hatred for the Conservatives. Your assesment of what constitutes truth, is, to say the least, extremely biased.

Please tell me when Harris was Prime Minister of Canada, .... I seem to have completely missed those years (he was merely Premier of Ontario). I imagine that YOU might assume that there is no difference but rest assured that there certainly is.
You raised the "horrible" spectre of "previous conservative governments", just as your hero Martin has repeatedly. And if you were not, as he continually does, referring to the Mulroney and Harris governments perhaps you should have taken some effort to clarify that. So what other government, aside from the Mulroney government (of which you appear almost entirely ignorant of) were you referring to?
While he was PREMIER OF ONTARIO he managed to destroy our provincial medicare system, raise taxes, cause needless strife in our educational system and cause voters to replace him with a Liberal, in this, a traditionally conservative voting province.

Harris increased funding for health care, but it was very difficult, in the midst of a recession, and with the Martin govenment continually slashing funding for health and education, to increase funding sufficient to keep up. The strife with the educational system was due mainly to the extremist ideologues in charge of the educational unions. And Harris would have done much better than Eves, who abandoned Harris' principals and killed the Common Sense Revolution in an effort to please the liberals and unions. It was Eves who lost.

I can't help but notice that the first quote of your latest posting was taken from a response that I made to Boondoggle. Could it be that you're unethical enough to pretend that it was made to you?

Apparently, in addition to knowing nothing about politics, history or economics, you know nothing about how these types of sites work. I am free to respond to anything you say to anyone on any topic. Sorry if that shocks you. Perhaps, if you think it unfair, you can get your mom to complain to the moderator.

For your edification, the "crisis" to which I referred was not that the Liberals might lose the election, but that if the Conservatives won we would soon see our young Canadians getting their limbs blown off in foreign oil wars while under the direction of a Bushite neo-Nazi.

Only a deranged loon would refer to Harper as a neo-nazi. Only a demented nut job would even refer to Bush like that. But then, we've already established your nearly complete ignorance of history, as well as your rabid, paranoid extremism.
