CBC's Liberal Infomercial for Paul Martin

Watched the repeat of Paul Martin's cozy little infomercial from last nights National on Newsworld this morning.

Pre-screened questions from the live audience and call ins, soft ball questions from Mansbridge. I've checked CBC's schedule and cannot find similar opportunities being provided for Harper, Layton and Duceppe.

So much for balanced reporting from the CBC. It's time for a change in their mandate and government subsidy.

I was watching CBC the other night (I don't know why) and I think they were announcing these townhall meetings. At the time Layton had accepted a slot but they were still working at getting a time for Harper. I think you'll see the other 2 leaders.

On the other hand, 2 nights ago on CBC radio, there was a little political satire comedy show that spent 20 minutes ripping PMPM apart at the seams, while saying little or nothing bad about any of the other candidates or their parties.

On publicly-funded radio.

People! If you're gonna criticise, at least pay attention.

CBC announced that the Harper people initially agreed on a date then cancelled due to "a scheduling conflict." To this point the Harper people have not agreed to a new date. If you have some evidence the CBC is lying, produce it.

It is not the CBC's fault if Harper chooses to make himself unavailable. One wonders if he is trying to stall so that he will end up on TV just before the election.

I actually for once found Mansbridge to be to the point and unwavering in his questioning. I had no problem with the format, it was fair and accurate.

I also found Martin flustered, defensive, and aggressively anti-Harper. No real new positive ideas yet again.

Only an idiot would not recognize just how biased the media can and has been. Lots of things can be done, not the least of which is the kind of questions, the order in which they come and the time allowed to answer them.

Just ask yourself how many reporters that work at the CBC have a conservative viewpoint ?

I'm actually kind of looking forward to Rick Mercer's show next week. I'm not a Mercer fan, but with so much material to work with this week, his next show ought to be epic.
