Because their immigration system is setup to keep people OUT. That includes me.

Was it drugs? Fraud? A sexual offense, perhaps?

Good call Fig.

The US has more immigration issues than we could ever dream of. Haven't you ever been to Cali?

And ya, if you have a job lined up in the states, it's actually quite reasonable to move there. It's a destination I'm considering.

I would disagree. The mexican's don't create even close the wage depression, social disruption, and cost in services that the Canadians do.

No one does anyhting about the Mexican's because they are actually needed in the US.

Would you care to explain to us all how the US meets the definition of a fascist state?

Well, it's ruled by an unelected junta that deals in jingoistic propaganda to sustain a military-industrial complex whose interests run counter to those of the populace at large.

Question. Why is the US government unelected? Last time I checked, they have regular elections...

The wage depression?!!? Are you kidding? There many occupations that Americans can't even work in because of the Mexicans. What about fruit picking?

Anyways. Most of the US has a higher unemployment rate than say Alberta or Saskatchewan, so really I have no idea how you can say that the US needs Mexicans but we don't need immigrants. We're not needing fruit pickers either, we're needing engineers, accountants, scientists and most importantly doctors and nurses.

I refer to Bush; court-appointed the first time, elected thru fraud the next.

Fraud? That's rather slanderous unless you have evidence of such?

I generally try to limit my legal accusitions towards people until I'm pretty confident. What makes you think he stole it.

And Fig, the President can only do so much. The House and Senate hold the real power, and they aren't much more twisted in electing them than we are up here.

Slanderous - spoken

Libelous - written

Sorry, just had to be anal. Carry on.

Reports of election events in Ohio constitute the evidence. (But, fyi, what I've said wouldn't be libel anyway 'cause, though Bush benefitted, I didn't say he carried it out.)

Hehe.. really funny. But yes labor is needed. But it's only that: labor.

I agree. We need people here on work permits to do the labor jobs that Albertans cannot do. This is why Mexican's are pretty much 'allowed' to do what they are doing. They are there to work and do the jobs that Americans cannot do.

And the word 'wont' do is a bad word to use. There are only so many poeple to go around. When there are a lot of jobs, those who are underemployed will be employed where they should be. Thus,

-the grad who is working at a call center will get a real office job.

-the mom who's works at Home Depot and only has her highschool will then get that call center job.

-the Tim Hortons worker who's a drop-out will then get the Home Depot job that pays more.

The issue becomes, who takes the Tim Hortons job? No one. This is where work permits come into play. And these IMO are where the job shortages in Alberta are. I just don't beleive the hype of the job situation there.

I have no doubt that there has been a trickle-up effect in ALberata society like I listed above. But we need labor. Mexicans are more than happy to come on permits and work these jobs.

WHAT WE DON'T NEED are 'high-cast' university educated south asians who think they God's gift to Canada and deserve a white collar job as soon as they land off the plane. This is what we currently letting into the country. These people do NOT work the labor jobs becuase they feel they are too good for this type of work and it looks bad on the family.

And to be further honest, I know I'm going to get a lot of flack saying this, but poeple from Asia/South Asia just aren't hard workers. They demand intillectual office jobs and addicted to schooling and chasing oppertunity. They are litterly obsessed with gov't jobs only and would rather not work if they didn't get one.

Portragues, Italians, Mexicans, Polish, Spanish - All very hard laborers and workers. They are very hard workers and will work jobs that we need them to work. They also integrate in well with our society.

My fiances father is an intellectual who gets his letters published in the post, globe and mail, CBC etc. He tells me I should take night courses. He doesn't own a hedge trimmer to trim his hedges. Never learned how to use a hammer or screw driver.

Poeple who can afford the flight over here and landing fees are the well to do in their respective countries. They have servants working in their kitchens and doing their laundry. They are high-cast in their societies. They could care less to move to Alberta and help out Canada.

Again, we need to reformat our system, bring in people on work permits, and you will litterally see not one single muslim, asian, or south asian filling out one of these applications. You WILL see tons of mexicans filing to get here.

Mexicans. The terrible mexicans that are Christian, have like the second lowest divorce rate in the world, enjoy great food, and have HOT daughters.

Twaddle. Who do you think you could possibly convince with this kind of stuff? And if you're not interested in convincing people of the rightness of your views, why are you here?

In your world, mere suspicion is absolute proof, eh?

Elected through fraud? Are you referring to them getting kickbacks in the form of cash laden envelopes in dark Italian restaurants from companies they gave phony contracts to, and then illegally funneling that money into various election campaigns? Or getting free legal services from unethical lawyers in exchange for making them judges?
