I have read over a few threads in the past couple days here and well instead of constantly lurking I figured I would like to Introduce myself I am Leroy Clingwall, born in kamloops raised in Salmon Arm.

Oh and for the guy who wanted fresh thinking mine will have to suffice.

my views on some topics.

-Marijuana should not be legalized.

-Same sex marriages shouldn't be legal

-We do need to place some reforms for our future "enviroment"

-14 yr's is to young to be having sex.

1) Not legalized BUT decriminalized.

2) That's religious and personal enough for me...I cannot comment.

3) Yes for the environment.

For sure, I wasn't having sex when I was 14 but some of my classmates were. It is a personal issue and one I really don't think should be decided by the state...like gay marriage. There are certain things I believe a person's religion and value system will determine and because I believe church and state should be separate, this is what I believe.

Allright 14 year olds can have sex with other 14 year olds but not with say 19-20 yr olds, a 2-3 year stretch at that age is max 3 years is even stretching it by my moral's.

Marijuana should not be legalized because,it affects the human mind far to severly a freind of mine had his girl friend crying on the way back to her house because she smoked weed and she was feeling the effects very very negativetly.Thgis may not seem like much to you but it is enough for me, I could mention statistics on health problems etc but that isnt personal to me and is irrelevant i feel if it doenst hit home it doesnt have to be said.

The enviroment is being destroyed at a far greater pace than it is regenerationg itself, and the human population is constantly increasing so in 30 yrs what will be left.

On a last note I am not a part of the conservatives although I have been told I should Look into it because my beliefs and morals are fairly paralell with theirs I am told.

Marijuana can have very positive effects if used in moderation. I have not smoked in a long time but the few times I did I was very relaxed (and VERY hungry).

I mean, we are not talking about shrooms or heroin here, but we still most definitely cannot legalize it.

ahh mate im so sorry i misunderstood you. I went back and re-read and now i have your point. I have known people who have used it as the stepping stone it is said to be and I believe that fully. I believe that alcohol should be highly monitored if you are going to use like daily limits, and lets bring cigarette's in they should just leave, but cigars should have limits though.

Do not get me wrong I like a beer here and there and a cigar at a buds wedding or a friends birthday but no more than that, because it will get out of hand quick.

How about cutting down the money flowing into the Hell's Angels, the mafia and other gangs by legalizing pot? How about the increase in tax revenue that would ensue?

Would I feel safe going to a doctor who was stoned? Hell, no. But I wouldn't feel safe going to a drunk doctor either. Does that mean we should introduce prohibition?

If stoned driving laws were as stiffly enforced as drunk driving laws should be, I wouldn't have a problem at all.

I am not ruling out legalization period, I just think that we can't just legalize it tomorrow. We should decriminalize it in several steps first. That way, we, as a society, could gradually get used to its status.

I am open to a healthy discussion on the matter, just that is my opinion.

How much of there revenue is pot? how much is cocaine? heroin? and the other hard drugs...should we legalize them too to stop money flowing into a illegal gang?Do you think that legalizing Marijuana would stop them wouldnt they just open up the bussiness themselves sinc ethey already have everything for it? now they are doing it legitametly now we cannot touch that money so...that solved what?

Prohibition was a bad idea you just cant ban something outright you have to phase it out, which can probably be done. See sure we can introduce measure's to test doctors but why the hassle lets just keep the bad drugs bad, and another point

really i can chalk up about 8 people who i know who have phoned my house wanting to see if i wished to go out drinking speaking like that one being my own brother. Now a fair amount of pot does have people talking like that, maybe not off a couple puffs but it is not unknown at parties you usually have 3-4 people who end up like that right? Now I do not smoke weed myself because i see noe sense in wrecking my lungs but this is just what i have observed.

ok, I'll start.

I am clearly a supporter of the CPC. I have experience on campaigns/campus politics, yada yada in the past.

When school finishes and I get home I will volunteer somehow/somewhere for this election. All the fireworks will really start after the Xmas break.

In January I plan to move to Ottawa. Either to start a job I am in the in the middle of the hiring process of - or to look for other employment. Maybe on the hill?
