reason10 Posted January 16, 2023 Report Posted January 16, 2023 Not technically a national politics subject. Yet, this story says a LOT about pop culture today. https://sharesplosion.com/starbucks-employee-breaks-down-in-tears-after-being-told-he-has-to-work-8-hours/?fbclid=IwAR0lwwAQOcqtza_NfC8aqn9VnpIjEd4dhQNWEyhvZHsD1HoGewxn1ApUhqo Starbucks Employee Breaks Down In Tears After Being Told He Has To Work 8 Hours A transgender man employed at Starbucks cries and sobs throughout a video he records after learning he is expected to work an eight-hour shift. On October 29, 2022, twenty-year-old transgender Starbucks employee Eva Sunshine (who goes by the name Evan) uploaded a video to Twitter in which she explained the grueling eight hours she had just worked for the popular coffee chain. In the astonishing video, the coffee shop worker expressed their grievances about their extensive shift at Starbucks and how customers were coming in to actually order drinks. Evan, a college student, wished his shift would be slow and for the coffee chain he worked at to lose money due to lack of sales. Unfortunately, the shop was busy, and he had to work hard to satisfy all the customers coming in to order lattes and Frappuccinos. “People wonder why we need a union at Starbucks,” Evan, on the verge of tears, said in the video. “And I’m literally about to quit. I don’t know if I’m going to do it, but I want to. I almost walked out today, and I’m crying in the backroom now, and I almost cried on the floor.” Evan exposes how distressing it is to work an eight-hour shift at Starbucks, trying to accommodate the demands of dozens of customers. I know. Those of you with jobs (and an education) just want to LAUGH YOUR ASSES OFF at these pathetic excuses for human beings. A couple of discussion points: 1. Why was it relevant that both these twinkies were transgender? What should that have to do with their entitled lack of a work ethic? 2. Since when does an eight hour day require a union? (If you'll recall, the Socialist Platform of 1929 called for shortening the work week. The FDR New Deal codified that idea with the 40 hour work week, with time and a half for overtime.) 3. One of the main objections from these low work ethic loons is the CAPITAL CRIME OF MISGENDERING. (I'm sure there are several blue states out there who want to legislate misgendering as a capital crime with the death penalty with ZERO APPEALS.) You decide on the discussion points. I'll come back and give you mine. Quote
