reason10 Posted December 29, 2022 Report Posted December 29, 2022 Maybe as long as 20 years ago, a headline like that would be dismissed as a cruel joke. Today it's real. https://taphaps.com/nika-holbert-police-blame-22b/?utm_source=MWN&utm_medium=facebook&fbclid=IwAR0NpAlt-tBK6H8t-aGZ8JpHcqVAjKMDj0QMEXAtk10mbdU2EHXUbpkk1ME Woman Dies In Shootout With Cop, Family Says She’s Not To Blame Quote After running the plates on a black Chevy Camaro, Metropolitan Nashville Police Officer Josh Baker signaled the driver to pull over. The officer expected the driver to be vehicle owner Demond Buchanan, who had 6 outstanding drug warrants, according to The Police Tribune. Instead, it was 31-year-old Nika Holbert. Bodycam footage shows Officer Baker searching Holbert’s bag as she phones her mother to pick her up and repeatedly ignores his orders not to reach into the car. He reportedly discovers illegal drugs in her bag and informs her that he will have to take her into custody. Holbert then grabs her bag and takes off, running into the car and reaching over to the passenger’s seat as the officer aims his Tazer at her. The video shows Officer Baker deploying his Tazer, which surprisingly doesn’t stop Holbert from continuing to resist arrest and reach around her vehicle. The struggle prompts the officer to press the Tazer against the woman’s arm and deploy it again. Incredibly, she still manages to move around the car. It is then that Holbert finds what she had been looking for. Holbert pulls a gun on Officer Baker, forcing him to brandish his own firearm and order her to drop the weapon. Holbert then shoots at Officer Baker several times, striking him in the torso. He returns fire, hitting the woman twice before she closes the door of the vehicle and speeds away. Officer Baker underwent surgery and survived his injuries. Unfortunately, Holbert died at the hospital. Here is the drug dealer who tried to kill a cop and died of injuries when the cop returned fire. And of course, this drug dealer's mother blamed the injured cop for the whole thing. Quote Despite footage capturing the incident, Holbert’s family doesn’t believe that she did anything wrong. In fact, the woman’s mother, who wishes to remain unnamed, insists that Officer Baker murdered her daughter and should’ve just “walked away” instead of trying to arrest her, News Channel 5 reports. Didn't do anything wrong? Let's see. In possession of illegal drugs. Tried to run. Resisted arrest. FIRED A GODDAM GUN AT THE OFFICER. Didn't do anything wrong? Seriously? It would be easy to suggest this entitlement mentality is exclusive to black people. Thing is, in the real world ALL criminals are stupid. Race doesn't determine stupidity. And race is not an automatic get out of jail free card. Or in this case a "should have just walked away" card. I'll wait patiently while the liberals here have a problem with what happened to this criminal. Quote
reason10 Posted December 29, 2022 Author Report Posted December 29, 2022 Earth to children: In the event that a cop pulls you over, here's what you have to do to stay alive. 1. Have your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance available. 2. After you hand them to the officer, keep your hands in sight and look him/her in the eye. 3. Just answer his questions. Do not argue or add ANYTHING you would want a jury to hear because SMILE, YOU'RE ON CANDID BODY CAMERA. 4. If you committed a crime and the evidence is in your car, you're going to jail. The officer is not going to let you off and there's NOTHING you can say that will change his/her mind. It's not his/her fault. He/she did not write the laws. He/she is just doing his/her job. Just do precisely what he/she says, so that your attorney can say you cooperated. It might get you a little leniency with the judge. 5. Here's an original idea: If you DON'T commit crimes, you don't have to worry about this stuff. Maybe get a real job instead of being stupid and dealing drugs. 1 Quote
