scribblet Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Check out the blatant racism in the reporting here:White folks "find" food in grocery store Non white folks "loot" a grocery store <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I havn't read the whole thread yet so maybe someone else replied. The news agency pulled one of them, but explained that the pictures came from two different sources, hence the different titles, no discrimination was ever intended. Argus Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Many of the leftwingers are getting more and more uneducated-sounding every day. It has already become your undoing. You do nothing but scare the moderates away to the Republican Party. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uneducated? Did you even go to school? Can your posts possibly get more shrill and frantic? The news agency pulled one of them, but explained that the pictures came from two different sources, hence the different titles, no discrimination was ever intended. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps not but during the early days I often saw these visuals of blacks carrying stuff out of stores amid voiceovers of looting and I had to wonder just when does looting become justified? I mean, if I were stuck down there with nothing I'd be busting into empty places looking for batteries, flashlights, battery powered radios, water, food, candles etc. I think the whole looting thing was wildly overblown because the press loves that sort of story. What the hell does looting matter, anyway? For every ten cents in looted goods New Orleans probably lost ten million bucks worth of goods destroyed by the flood and hurricane. Argus Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Why blame bush, when it is state officials who have authority and jurisdiction. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because FEMA is responsible for disasters of this magnitude. Obviously the state was overwhelmed by it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Obviously, but FEMA is only a coordinating body. If those that they are to direct and coordinte are rendered out of service for the most part it's game over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Fate of FEMA FEMA, run by an old pal whose last job was overseeing horse shows - from which he was fired for mismanagement. You can sure see the importance Bush placed on this agency.
