mirror Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Of course they are not, so why should we be coming down on the Muslim community for the actions of a few murderers? I am tired of hearing people malign the entire Muslim community for the terrible behaviour of a few Muslims. I hope all the perpetuators of these dastardly crimes are apprehended and severely punished just like the former CEO of World Com was caught and apprehended, and is now going to be punished for his sick crimes as well. I also think though that we need to think through the results of our supression of minorities to positions of prominance in our Canadian society. We are paying the price and will continue to pay the price for it. A major culprit in all this is our corporate media which unfortunately bring us the corporate news every nite. We need the peoples news every nite instead. IMHO. Quote
I Miss Trudeau Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Of course they are not, so why should we be coming down on the Muslim community for the actions of a few murderers? Because some people are so bigoted that they'll search for any excuse they can find to denounce entire groups of similarly skinned people. Quote Feminism.. the new face of female oppression!

mirror Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 I agree. But if you watch the news nite after nite you will always see several minutes of news about street crime, and rarely mews about corporate crime, which is just as rampant. Anyway to each their own I suppose. I used to like the CBC but after having studied, at least their News department, they may as well be a wing of the federal Liberals. In 2007 IWT will be starting to broadcast which is going to be free of any corporate sponsorship. It will be an interesting experiment and I think people will be truly shocked by the results after they have been up and running for a while. Quote

mirror Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 What's tan? Is that a sun-drenched white person or a person with brown skin? Maybe you are missing the point. Generalizations or stereotyping a race or a culture, etc. is not helpful and only breds more problems. Quote
