We normally get all the worst news from our MSM so it was refreshing this morning to get up and read this fabulous news about Canada's Health Care system. This certainly represents the experiences that my family has received as well.

Canada's has a superb Health Care system however it is constantly under threat from one or more of our short-sighted provincial governments, and some of these right wing lobby groups such as the Fraser Institute who front for those US private insurance companies. Isn't it about time we removed this threat once and for all and put the responsibility for Canada's Health Care system back where it belongs, in Ottawa?

Clarkson's speedy care a heartbeat away for all

Oh yes, I was particularly impressed when he said that the lack of wait time for Clarkson was perfectly normal, then further in his story admits there are no statistics available on wait times for pacemaker implanting.

Such a paragon of journalism.

But let's face it, this was not a news item. It was a political propaganda piece from one of the members of the ruling elite class, from one of the petty bourgeois who profits from the current system. It might as well have been written by one of Paul Martin's speech writers. "Never mind all those evil neo cons! Our health care system is the best on Earth! The envy of all the world!(even though no one in the world seems to be trying to emulate it) Nothing is wrong with it! Nobody dies waiting for operations here! And by the way, VOTE LIBERAL TO SAVE CANADA!"

I have no idea how you interpreted that article as being a plug for the Liberal party. Do you not think you can like anything Canadian without being a Liberal supporter? And for the record most Canadians recognize Tommy Douglas and the CCF as the founders of medicare.

My hunch if Canadians were offered a chance to put medicare under Ottaw's roof: 80% would be in favour.

Because, like, they've done such a bang-up job managing other programs, right?

I have to admit they initially made a mess with weapon control enforcement particularly the weapon registry costs, although now apparently it seems to be working fine.

At least having Sheila Fraser helps now if only we could get some decent people looking after conflict of interests, and some decent whistle blower and freedom of information legislation.

Apart from personal privacy issues everything about our governments should be above board and open to the public including budgets cabinet meetings, etc.

Basically secrets are unhealthy whether they be between couples, families, or governments.
