I resent not being up on your poll.

Not to worry. The two most intelligent posters (IMV), Black Dog and Hugo, are also not on the list. Other 'quality posters, such as PocketRocket, and eureka, both of whom I have much respect for, were also overlooked. And then there's lil 'ol me...*sniff*

BD is too rabid for my tastes, and Eureka argues out of emotionalism too often. Hugo shows glimpses of brilliance, but his libertarianism sometimes makes him seem seriously demented. PR is enthusiastic, but lacks that turn of phrase. You don't post often enough, I think. Anyway, none of you match either Kimmy or August for serious, thoughtful, intelligent discussion without insults. Kimmy wins out because she's got that cynical dry wit.

I, of course, have not voted for anyone. I consider this to be merely a bit of fun without any serious estimate of any poster's capacities.

If the criterion were elegance of phrase. I would vote for you, Argus, when the vituparative elements (about 90%) are extirpated.

However, your analysis of others is redolent of your prejudices.

I can get very emotional about some of these topics. But, it is not emotionalism. It is fustration at the apathy, indifference and self centred carelessness with respect to the really important issues that face us. I have posted on climate change - the most important issue facing all humanity- I have peppered the forum with facts on the degree and danger of centralization in Canada. On social and income equality; on the facts of healthcare.

This is not emotionalism. It is fact. The fact is, that Canada will not exist as a nation in ten to twenty years; that the earth will be a very dangerous or, at the very least, a very unpleasant place by then; few seem to care about either or are too lazy to think through let alone act to try to prevent these happenings..

The smugness and complaceny is overwhelming.

I guess it is much easier to keep repeating that we are overtaxed.
