We should not wait any longer for an election. I want to enjoy the BBQ season so lets get it on.

Waiting for the Gomery report will not prove useful. His mandate is such that the testimony will be more insightful. What do we expect him to deliver that will add more clarity?

A comprehensive comparison and analysis of the very extensive and sometimes conflicting evidence. The identification of which individuals were involved and not involved. Indications of systemic and personal failings which lead to this problem. A quantification of sums involved and where they went.

Maybe Tory strategists don't care about these things, but voters do. Yet another dichotomy between Tory interests and voter interests.

And this will still occur but my standard for who I vote for is higher than are they a criminal or just unethical.

Hmm, weren't these same arguments made before the last election? Didn't' the Liberals sneer that it was useless, shut down the commitee looking into it, and call a snap election in hopes of gettting a comfortable majority before the Gomery Commision could even start?

Well, since you ask, no. That is the tory spin on events, not a fatual representation.

Oh okay. So who did shut down the Public Accounts Committee hearings? Who was responsible for fighting against efforts at collecting documents and evidence, and insisting on recalling the same people repeatedly, those who apperently were reliably silent, and then feeding them softball questions?

Oh okay. So who did shut down the Public Accounts Committee hearings?

Did they not cme to a halt due to the operation of regular Parliamentary procedure?

There were dozens of witnesses they still were to hear from, and many documents they wanted - or at least, the opposition wanted, when the Liberals shut the committee down.

I should add that among those to be heard were the ones making such noise now at the Gomery Commision, and when the Liberals shut the commitee down there was a lot of talk from them about the Auditor General having exaggerated, and that there was nothing much really to be learned, and it was all just a few rogue civil servants.

How did the Liberals do that?
